Continuity mistake: When Mad Max is sent on gulag on a horse, they place a jar of water on a stick tied to the horses head in order for the horse to keep walking "towards" it. When the horse drop dead to the ground you see the jar empty on the ground and no trace of water in or around it. In a few shots later you see the jar again, but this time the ground around it is wet.

Continuity mistake: Near the end of the movie when Max is clearing a path for the plane he leans out of the right side of the vehicle preparing to jump clear of the impending crash. When it does show him jumping, he is jumping from the left side of the vehicle.

Continuity mistake: When Master is lowered into the pigs den he is clean in the first shot. In the next shot as he is being lowered he is covered with mud and pig droppings. It is that he has already been down in the den between these two shots.

Mortug

Visible crew/equipment: When Max enters Barter town for the first time, right before the shot where he hands over his weapons at the entrance, a microphone from filming can be seen in the upper left corner of the screen, rather obvious to spot although the background is dark.

Continuity mistake: Halfway through the end chase Max opens the driver's door of the escaping truck - at this point his trademark leather jacket simply disappears, then returns later on.

Factual error: In the fight scene, where Max is about to kill Blaster after knocking his helmet off, it's discovered that Blaster is mentally disabled, showing signs of him having Down syndrome. A person with this form of disability grows no taller than 5'2". The extra chromosome in their body causes disruptions in their brain growth and health, which causes them to be of a small size their entire lives. Blaster certainly wouldn't be of a tall, large stature as he's depicted in the film with Down syndrome.

Revealing mistake: As Ironbar shoots into the conduit where the kids are, the spots where the spark charges to simulate the bullets hitting are visible.

Movie Nut

Factual error: When Auntie sees Max through the periscope she zooms into him, but the lens is fixed and crude and shows no such zoom feature.

Revealing mistake: When Savanna first finds Max in the desert studio lighting is seen behind her - this is too low and bright to be light from the moon and can't be light from anything else as they are in the desert miles from anywhere.

Continuity mistake: The white make up and black make up on the one kid's face alternates from heavy to light and back between shots.

Movie Nut

Visible crew/equipment: In the opening sequence after Max is robbed of his vehicle, he walks up to a pair of boots that has a Bosun's whistle in the strap. As the camera looks at it, the cameraman and equipment can be seen beside Max in the reflection as he reaches down.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Max escapes in the truck and barter town is in disarray, we see the bald headed guy "the collector" walking in the crowd - the next shot is of him sitting at his desk with his head down, with no time for him to get there - looks like these shots are the wrong way round.

Revealing mistake: At the start when Max is knocked of his truck, the plane circles and the shot switches to in front of the camels. If you look at the ground you can see the tyre tracks from previous takes.

Continuity mistake: When Max places the needle on the language learning record on the train it is a few centimeters from the edge. The lesson begins and runs continuously, but when the camera cuts back to the record the stylus is closer to the edge than it started. This is backwards to how record players work, the stylus goes toward the center.

Todio

Continuity mistake: When Ironbar shoots Pig Killer through the door, watch the arrow. It stops at the door, and the panel vibrates with the impact. The next moment, the camera looks at his leg in the cab, and the hole in the fabric is just big enough for the tip and the shaft. There is no extra torn spot to account for the wide parts of the arrow.

Audio problem: When Master is riding on Max's truck, he says "Everybody, have a good time! Saturday night!" His mouth doesn't match up with the words.

Movie Nut

Continuity mistake: When Ironbar is hanging on the outstretched pipe on the right side, the standard with the face alternates between being against the pipe burning, and below the pipe.

Movie Nut

Max: We'll go on the count of three.
Max and Pig Killer together: One...
[Max yanks the door open.]
Pig Killer: What happened to two?

Trivia: Though many years after the apocalypse, the jacket Max wears still has his name on it. The name plate reads "Rockatansky", his name before it all happened.

More trivia for Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome

Question: Since this is set years after the "Pocky-clipse" (as called by the kids), while Max and a lot of others have long hair, why do they mostly not show any facial hair? Given there are some knives and razors, but it would seem that shaving wouldn't be high on the list of survival.

Movie Nut

Chosen answer: Actually grooming would be somewhat important, if only for general comfort. Unruly facial hair can be quite uncomfortable and gets dirty easily. It is entirely plausible that men would regularly shave if they had a means to even in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
