Revealing mistake: When Wilby is in the car being chased by the police officers while he is a dog, in some scenes the dog is a real dog and in other scenes it is just a person in a dog costume.
The Shaggy Dog (1959)
1 revealing mistake
Directed by: Charles Barton
Starring: Fred MacMurray, Annette Funicello, Jean Hagen, Tommy Kirk
Continuity mistake: In the scene when Diane is talking to her husband in the office she slams two heavy books on the table and one slides off of the other, but then they show the books and they are piled neatly on the desk.
Buzz Miller: Hey, Wilby, what is it this time?
Wilby Daniels: What about the seven bucks I loaned you?
Buzz Miller: What about it?
Wilby Daniels: Cough it up. Pop pulled the plug on my allowance.
Buzz Miller: Gee, pal, I'd like to help you out, but you know how it is. I've got a date with Allison.
Wilby Daniels: I'm sick and tired of financing your romances.

Answer: I assume this is merely a movie plot device so that the audience does not get confused when Wilbur is in his dog form or that the other characters are wondering why there are suddenly two identical dogs.
