Continuity mistake: After Fred pours the milk on the mud pie, the mud changes from a large whole clump, to spread out clumps of mud, and the position / amount of cornflakes on it also differs as well as the plates surrounding it. (01:01:35)
Visible crew/equipment: This is the bit when Elizabeth's mother is taping up the Drop Dead Fred Box. Then when Elizabeth gets up from the stairs, walking past the round, marble table, notice the tape marker on the floor. Video Only.
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth bumps into Mickey, she drops her box of belongs, which scatter over the floor. She then puts them all back in the box, filling it right to the top. But when she gets up you can see halfway into box, and you can see there's nothing in it, but then when she's outside, sitting down, her box is once again full to the top with her belongings. Continuity mistake: When Polly is telling young Elizabeth a bedtime story, you can see Elizabeth's soft-toy monkey 'Mr. Poo' laying behind her, but in the next shot she has him cuddled in her arms. (00:00:45)
Revealing mistake: When Fred gets his head stuck in the fridge you can see that his head isn't really stuck but merely bent down. Also, his hair goes in red but comes out brown.
Visible crew/equipment: When Charles is taking the woman for a test drive in the car, Elizabeth pulls up next to them, and the boom mic is reflected in her door before it moves out of shot, though the boom pole is visible throughout the scene. (Only noticeable on DVD).
Continuity mistake: When Elizabeth drops her box of belongings, her stapler lands a long way away from the box. Nobody reaches over to get it, then in one shot, Elizabeth just picks it up from beside her and then drops it into her box. (00:07:35)
Revealing mistake: In the scene where Drop Dead Fred and Elizabeth are pretending to be burglars you can see constantly throughout that young Elizabeth has fake long hair extensions in, this relates to later on in the film when Elizabeths hair gets cut off by Fred, but the fake hair extensions proves it was never that long to begin with.
Answer: When she trapped Fred in the box, she was closing off the part of her imagination. The part of the brain that stops believing in fairy tales and decides to grow up.
