Other mistake: When Saverio Guerra runs into the clothes line after the chase sequence with Martin Lawrence, you will notice that the clothes that fall on his face after he hits the ground were not on the clothes line, also the clothes that did fall off disappear.

Plot hole: When Miles tries to hand the pizza to Carlson, he steals the ID card off him. Carlson would have realised that he had lost the card the next time he came to open a security door and would have reported it as lost. This means that his original card would have been blocked, meaning that Miles wouldn't have been able to use it.

Suggested correction: Unless he didn't report it lost due to the fear of being reprimanded for losing the card.

Miles is a strictly by the book cop. No way he wouldn't report his ID card as lost. The original posting is correct. Correcting an entry by guessing what may have been going through a character's mind only works if it fits the characters usual mindset or attitude, which this correction doesn't.

So without a card how would he be getting through the security doors? Are you saying he would just stand there and wait for someone to swipe their card and just piggyback behind them? And how long is that supposed to last?

No, I'd say the original entry for a plot hole is correct and that the card shouldn't have worked.

Well to be completely honest this whole movie doesn't make sense. Wouldn't it be more rational to try to sneak in the backdoor disguised as a janitor instead of impersonating a detective? Most people would not question a man wearing a janitorial outfit, examining the vents. Yeah its still a risky move but not nearly as risky or time consuming as impersonating a cop. It is hard to believe someone as clever as Miles would not at least consider the idea.

Factual error: None of the police vehicles, marked or unmarked, have a steady red light to the front, as required on ALL emergency vehicles in California, but not required in any other US state.

Continuity mistake: When Martin Lawrence is interrogating the driver of the "B 96" Truck and smashing his face with the door, the truck driver's position keeps changing each time you see him.

Other mistake: In the beginning, when Miles gets out of prison and goes to visit his ex, when she's talking to him from upstairs window, someone is on a bike right behind him - frozen still and not moving. Then, when Miles goes to leave, no one is behind him or the bike.

Continuity mistake: When Malone and Carlson are airborne in the car, a car travelling ahead of them has its trunk open. In the following scene its trunk is closed.

Factual error: The scene where you see the Mexican officials coming down the dirt road, you can see the stop sign in English when they are in Mexico. It should say Alto.

Continuity mistake: Miles' police car gets wrecked when the truck at the end hits it and it suffers serious damage. This includes knocking the lights off the top of the car, but when Miles is leaving having killed his ex-partner from the robbery at the start, it is in better condition with the lights back on the car.

Factual error: The truck at the end wouldn't get as far as it does (about 1.5 miles to 2 miles) with four flat tires and having hit all the stuff it did. Including police cars, road blocks and 4x4's.

Continuity mistake: When the man picks up the harpoon at the start to fire across the street, it is not loaded. Camera cuts and it is now loaded.

Ssiscool

Continuity mistake: When asked if he is smoking at the start, the man replies no. You then see a pile of fag (cigarette) butts on the floor. When the cop car is first shown, they have disappeared.

Ssiscool

Continuity mistake: Just as Miles plans the sting, he closes a door with a red sign on it. The camera cuts to the outside and the sign has switched doors.

Tulley: Then he said I was ugly and I couldn't read good.

Trivia: Anytime there is an overhead shot of the LAPD police cars, number 664 is always there. ML even drives it at one point, and I think in one shot where he chases the armoured car, its number is 664.

Question: In the scene where the three officers (one of them being Martin Lawrence) went to the airport to check out the situation there, Mallone picks up a piece of the exhibit. Wouldn't the FBI run the prints on the items, and if so, Martin Lawrence's fingerprints would come up and reveal his true identity since he is in the system?

Answer: Yes, however Malone is not a real cop, only pretending to be one. Therefore it is safe to assume he would not know procedures of the police department and would not think his prints would be run by the FBI. He thinks he is safe because he is a cop. That's how big his ego is.

SAZOO1975

Yes, but the reason they don't worry about fingerprints is because they decided to immediately set up the sting operation, since they only had hours before the package was to be delivered in 3 hours. So, they had to hurry and make it there in time to do the bust.
