Masters of the Universe
Masters of the Universe mistake picture

Other mistake: When He-Man is fighting against the centurions on the floating disks, he tells the others to get inside a building. As he opens the door to the building, not only does it fall right off the hinges, but his sword also falls right off his back, pulling his cape off with it just as the scene ends. (01:09:20)

Other mistake: When the robot troopers storm the music store, a keyboard (in a slow-mo scene) is blasted. But it does not end up being damaged or even scorched, even though it receives a direct hit.

Other mistake: As the camera precedes He-Man, the tire tracks of the camera vehicle can be seen over his right shoulder.

Other mistake: As the troops come through the door to our world, assuming the are on the street between the buildings and the shot is done outside, the words on the drug store windows they pass are reversed.

Continuity mistake: When Julie moves through the alley towards whom she thinks is her mother, in the first shot from her she is seen from behind as she walks to the wall on her left, and puts her hand out to it, almost as if to steady herself. The angle changes to a front view, and she is now standing next to a stack of crates, with her hand down by her side. The next time she is shown from behind, she is once again standing by a blank wall, with her hand outstretched to it, before she runs to her "mother".

Trivia: The film was largely a disappointment both commercially and critically. A sequel to the film was written, but by 1989 the He-Man franchise was no longer popular, and the script was transformed into the action film Cyborg.

Chosen answer: A sequel was not only planned, but money was spent developing sets and costumes. However, Dolph Lundgren did not want to reprise the role, so Laird Hamilton was picked to play He-Man with Albert Pyu set to direct. Canon Films, who produced the first movie, was also planning on producing a Spider-Man movie. However, Canon Films still owed money to Mattel and Marvel for the character rights that they couldn't feasibly pay, so both projects had to be scrapped. Incidentally, not wanting to let money go to waste on sets and costumes, they had Pyu come up with a movie to utilize them, which resulted in Cyborg starring Jean-Claude Van Damme.
