Wes Craven's New Nightmare

Trivia: In the hospital Heather is told that she can not be in a certain area without a pass; she replies "Screw your pass." The very same line was spoken, by her character Nancy in Nightmare on Elm Street 1, to a hall monitor in her dream.

Trivia: Wes Craven wanted to bring Johnny Depp in for a cameo as himself, as Depp had co-starred in the original "Nightmare on Elm Street", and this film featured cameos by various alum of the franchise. However, Craven decided not to ask, believing that Johnny Depp would not be interested in being in another Elm Street movie. Johnny Depp later stated that if Wes Craven had asked him he would have said yes.

Trivia: The nurse that gives Dylan the pills he doesn't swallow is Robert Shay's sister.

Trivia: The junior nurse at the hospital is played by director Wes Craven's daughter, Jessica Craven.

Trivia: The earthquake debris in the film is from a real earthquake that hit L.A. during filming.

Trivia: The actress that plays the nurse that gives Dylan his medicine is the same actress that played Nancy's teacher in the first Nightmare movie, just before she had her nightmare about Tina.

Continuity mistake: When Freddy is dragging Dylan's babysitter up the wall, you see that no blood goes onto the x-rays on the wall. But in the next shot, you see blood rubbed up the top of the x-ray screen. (01:17:55)

Question: What is the role of Robert Englund in this movie? Is he and Freddy Krueger supposed to be the same (as his picture and disappearance indicate) or two different characters (as the credits indicate)?

Answer: In the beginning he is just Robert Englund, but as the film goes on, the characters start becoming who they were in Nightmare 1, so he begins to become Freddy, and goes away so he doesn't harm anyone. The demon that looks like Freddy isn't Freddy, just a demon who takes the shape of the character Freddy.
