Other mistake: In every case, the pod needs hours to take over the human, but, in Elizabeth's case, she gets changed in less than 5 minutes. (01:24:00)
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)
1 other mistake
Directed by: Philip Kaufman
Starring: Donald Sutherland, Jeff Goldblum, Veronica Cartwright, Brooke Adams
Revealing mistake: Near the end of the film when Matthew is trying to destroy the pod "greenhouse," there is a shot where Elizabeth walks through. She is supposed to be naked, but if you look close you can see she is wearing flesh colored underwear. (01:55:30)
Elizabeth Driscoll: Yep, Boccardo's pills. He eats it like candy... or used to. Take some.
Matthew Bennell: What are they?
Elizabeth Driscoll: Speed. They'll keep us awake.
Matthew Bennell: How many are you suppose to take?
Elizabeth Driscoll: It says take one.
Matthew Bennell: Take five.
Trivia: In the opening title sequence we see a garbage truck going through the Golden Gate Bridge toll booth. We would find out later that these trucks were used to transport the pods. The truck is traveling southbound from Marin County into San Francisco which is appropriate, (intentional or not) since the book Body Snatcher was set in Mill Valley, in Marin County, about 10 miles from the bridge.
Question: Why does Leonard Nimoy have a brown piece of leather on the back of one of his hands?

Answer: On the DVD commentary, Director Phillip Kaufman explained that the leather on Nimoy's hand was the actor's idea and simply showed how kooky the character was. Fits the character well really.
