Character mistake: When Mrs. Doubtfire gets her own TV show at the end, she asks the puppet if he knows anything about England. The reply is, "I only know that it's an island", which is not true. Britain is an island, not England.
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
1 character mistake - chronological order
Directed by: Chris Columbus
Starring: Robin Williams, Pierce Brosnan, Sally Field, Harvey Fierstein
Revealing mistake: Mrs. Doubtfire sets herself on fire. When she jumps back and starts fighting the flames, it is obviously a stunt double as her face is longer.
Suggested correction: If you look carefully, the face looks pretty much the same, as well as the voice.
The reason the voice was the same is that it was probably an audio dub, which is a voice recording over someone else's voice.
Mrs. Doubtfire: I hope you don't mind me being a tad rude, but... How was he? You know, on a scale of 1 to 10?
Miranda: Well, that part was always... Okay.
Mrs. Doubtfire: Just okay? Well, he was probably a Casanova compared to poor old Winston.
Miranda: What was the matter with Winston?
Mrs. Doubtfire: Oh dear, Winston's idea of foreplay was "Effie, brace yourself."
Trivia: Adding to the 'carpe dentum' contribution, if you look at Pierce Brosnan when Mrs Doubtfire gets up from the table, he is moments away from bursting out laughing. According to the commentary track on the dvd, it was this reference to Dead Poets Society that tickled Brosnan but he managed to keep a straight face and so they didn't need to reshoot.
Question: When Daniel learns that Stu is allergic to pepper he sneaks into the kitchen and spikes his food. Later when Stu starts choking Daniel seems surprised. What did he think was going to happen?
Answer: He acts surprised so that everyone thinks he wasn't in on it, and he is just another person scared for Stu. If he didn't have a surprised face, or just a straight face, the gig would've been easier to notice.
Answer: Maybe just faking it as Mrs. Doubtfire to avoid being caught smiling to himself?
