Continuity mistake: As Stranger [Eastwood] is bathing, Cali Traverse enters, in a rage, and pulls a gun. As she screams and fires at him, her open cleavage appears to change between partial to almost none, during the action shots.

High Plains Drifter (1973)
Ending / spoiler
Directed by: Clint Eastwood
Starring: Clint Eastwood, Mitch Ryan, Marianna Hill, Mitchell Ryan, Verna Bloom
The stranger is somehow related to Jim Duncan, the former sheriff. Jim was whipped to death by the town folk whose mine was on government land and had hired 3 gunmen to take him out. Just two people found that objectionable, and were spared by the end of the film. This stranger takes revenge for the town's wrong doings by making them do all sorts of ridiculous things; however he ultimately kills the 3 gunmen, whipping one of them in the same way Jim was whipped.
Notorious ET
Sarah Belding: Be careful. You're a man who makes people afraid, and that's dangerous.
The Stranger: It's what people know about themselves inside that makes 'em afraid.
Trivia: At the end of the film when the Stranger (Clint Eastwood) is riding out of Lago, he passes a midget who is painting a name on a tombstone. In the next shot you see two more tombstones to the left. The names on these are "Sergio Leone" and "Don Siegel."
