Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives

Continuity mistake: Colone has a blue pen in his left shirt pocket. The pen is there during the car ride and throughout the chase scene but disappears when he draws his gun. Later on the blue pen is back in his pocket when Colone says "Happy Friday the 13th". (00:22:35 - 00:45:48)

Continuity mistake: Roy has somehow circled back and is standing beside the same tree he was kneeling beside earlier when he broke the branch. The vines on the front of the tree were removed and the branch he broke is just below the camera but the tree itself and the trees in the background are identical. (00:22:58 - 00:24:04)

Continuity mistake: After Jason kills the 3 paintball players, he comes after Roy who panics and shoots Jason in the chest with a paintball. Jason even looks down at the paintball stain before he chases after Roy. Yet in all the later scenes, the paintball stain is gone. (00:23:25)

Continuity mistake: As Jason pulls out the machete for the triple decapitation you can see his sleeve pulled up slightly revealing the Dan Bradley's wrist. It's not Jason's rotted skin seen in the opening. (00:24:18)

Continuity mistake: This is not the same cemetery as the one in the opening scene, this is a real cemetery. The layout is different. There are no hills or staircases. It has different monuments and tombstones which actually have names on them. The quick shot of Jason's grave is just an insert. All the actors also avoid walking over any graves, and they do not take the same care in the opening scene. (00:25:39)

Continuity mistake: When Tommy is handcuffed and stood up he has leaves and debris stuck to his shirt but in the next shot of him standing up it's all gone. (00:26:33)

Continuity mistake: The liquor bottle has a red and gold label. Later the liquor bottle label is white with gold trim. The change occurred because the caretaker's death was filmed months after the shooting had wrapped. (00:27:14 - 00:30:29)

Continuity mistake: In the second row the second girl from the right has a pink bag and doll in her lap. The next shot both are gone. (00:27:25)

Continuity mistake: When Megan talks to the girls there are multiple girls in this scene who are never seen again in the movie. There are 2 black girls and at least 3 white girls who are never seen again. Also, the main little girl from the later parts of the movie is nowhere to be seen in this shot. (00:27:26)

Continuity mistake: Jason has been shown to be right-handed but in this scene he has the machete in his left hand. The dart pouch is barely visible and the machete holster is not. In the shot of his head the axe wound is missing. This is all because the film has been flipped - it's a mirror image of a previous shot of Jason walking. (00:28:43)

Continuity mistake: When the caretaker takes a drink there is still liquor in the bottle when pulls it away from his lips. You can hear it slosh around In the bottle. The next closeup shot shows the bottle is empty before he puts it in his mouth and then pretends to swallow. (00:30:37)

Continuity mistake: Jason's suit is a little dirty but not damaged at all. This is a result of this scene being added months after filming had wrapped. (00:31:16)

Continuity mistake: When Sissy and Paula are in the cabin as the girl screams, Sissy holds her hand up. When it cuts to them running, her arm is suddenly down. (00:32:15)

Continuity mistake: In the film Cort is making out with Nikki in the motor home and his tank top rolls up and it's above his nipples. In the following shot the shirt is rolled back down again. (00:33:45)

Continuity mistake: When Jason approaches the RV with Cort and Nikki inside, we can see that the vent on the roof (above the front of the RV) is wide open. It is still open when Cort starts driving away. In the next scene when the RV is driving down the road, and after it flips over, the vent is now closed. (00:34:05 - 00:37:50)

Continuity mistake: When Cort starts the RV and drives away, all of the interior lights are on inside the RV. Yet when we see an exterior shot of the RV before it flips over, the lights inside the RV are no longer on. (00:37:10)

Continuity mistake: When Cort and Nikki drive away in the camper, there is a large framed picture on the wall behind Cort above 2 smaller pictures. In one exterior shot of the camper pulling out, the larger picture is gone, but it re-appears in the next scene. (00:37:20)

Continuity mistake: When Jason stabs Cort in the head (Cort is driving the camper) we see an exterior shot of the camper before it flips over. Look inside the camper; Jason is no longer standing behind the driver's seat where he stabbed Cort. In fact, Jason is gone altogether. (00:39:15)

Suggested correction: More than likely Jason fell back from the wreck, he's tough but not Superman tough.

This correction missed the point of the mistake. Before the RV flips, there's no sign of Jason when he should be seen standing between the front seats.

I watched it and Jason wasn't in sight. I wonder if he backed up while the RV was going crazy due to the driver getting stabbed in the head. I have no idea, I had to rewind and pause to see it.

Allen Hawes: You just have to see that Jason's dead, right? Seeing his corpse ain't gonna stop your hallucinations.
Tommy: Seeing it won't, but destroying it will. Jason belongs in Hell - and I'm gonna see to it that he gets there.

Trivia: Director Tom McLoughlin revealed in a 2017 interview that he was approached at one point to write and direct the seventh installment of the series after "Jason Lives" proved popular. Knowing the studio wanted to make "Freddy VS Jason" at that point but couldn't due to legal rights, McLoughlin pitched another crossover idea - "Cheech and Chong Meet Jason", a farcical comedy starring the stoner comedy-duo in the vein of the old Universal "Abbot and Costello Meet..." films. The producer thought the film would do well with comedy audiences and was entertained by the idea, but ultimately decided it would alienate horror fans too much and it never moved forward.

Question: Who would have a tombstone made for Jason?

Answer: Someone who wanted to let people know that Jason was truly dead. That the crazed killer of Camp Crystal Lake would no longer be loose in the world.

Answer: Probably regulations so they wouldn't dig up that plot to bury someone else there.
