The Forgiven

Character mistake: David said, "Camels bite. I hear they like to bite people in the stomach. It's the leading cause of death among the Arabs." This is absurd. Generally, leading causes of death are heart disease, cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure; auto accidents may be the leading cause for certain age groups, and deaths from infectious diseases may be increasing. Resorting to statistics on the deadliest "animals", camels are not even in the top 15. Deer and bees (#14-15) cause about 100 deaths each yearly. (00:24:15)

Other mistake: Right before the "Y" in the road, it could be seen that Richard's speedometer was pointing to the far left, indicating that he was driving at a low speed, such as 5 - 10 MPH. When Richard was looking at the damage to the car, he said, "Smashed headlights, smashed bumper. Must have been going at a fair clip." The damage to the car, as well as Driss' death from the impact, seem severe at such a low speed. (00:07:40 - 00:16:09)

Trivia: Although Driss apparently stepped out in front of David's car and got killed (in the desert), it is ironic that "Moroccan drivers don't give way to pedestrians" [according to Mowgli-Adventures.com, "Driving in Morocco", Nov. 5, 2021]. (00:07:44)
