Character mistake: Bree said, "Even the smallest pup can smell meat from 40 feet away." Puppies may not be able to smell quite as well as their adult counterpart, but dogs have excellent smell. It is estimated that dogs (under ideal conditions) can smell as far as 20 km (12+ miles). I suspect someone did a quick Google search of "how far can a puppy smell" and the following was visible: "On a windy, bright day, a dog might be able to smell a person standing upwind at 40 feet away.
