Continuity mistake: David Chiang chases the man in a purple dress at the 1985 Hong Kong Marathon. He fires a warning gunshot; if you look at the guy in the back of the pick-up that the criminal is about to hijack, he lets go off the bar twice in two different shots. (00:02:35)
Continuity mistake: In the wild stun where Rambo Chow jumps through the cracked windshield into the moving van, in the first take the stuntman doesn't quite land right into the windshield (in fact he hits the frame in a way that could possibly break a hip) and his body bends awkwardly, but in the next shot you see him slide in smoothly. (00:03:15)
Continuity mistake: When the van crashes into the stage at the marathon, the crash happens in two separate takes, as you can see by the position of the guy in a light blue jacket, who dodges the incoming vehicle with radically different timing in the two shots. (00:03:20)
Continuity mistake: At the convenience store, Tuba jumpscares the girl he's trying to flirt with. She turns back to the clients; between shots, the bottles of Sprite and Fanta swap position. (00:05:20)
Continuity mistake: Tuba's coworkers try to hook him up with a lanky chick not of his liking. When she tries to flirt with him carrying a fish head on a plate, the head does a 180° between shots. (00:07:55)
Continuity mistake: In the comedy scene in the kitchen, Sammo Hung crushes eggs getting yolk all over his apron. When he actually crushes them, the yolk spills also on his bright red waistcoat, which is immaculate in the rest of the scene. (00:08:00)
Continuity mistake: When Tuba's friend drops the strainer to have a quick exchange under the table, the strainer falls next to the table's leg, but the unattractive girl picks it up from Tuba's left (the leg is at his right). (00:09:20)
Continuity mistake: When Tuba's poor friend protests because his pretend-folk-dancing has been overlooked, the pretend-fisherman is suddenly fishing with his chopsticks in his bowl, while he was not doing anything a moment earlier. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: As Tuba's story about the folk-dancing at the funeral becomes exponentially more ridiculous, the man in the pink shirt tries to convince his wife, but there's a clear lack of continuity in his movements between the various cuts. (00:11:15)
Continuity mistake: After interrupting (sadly not for good) Sammo's date with the ugly girl, his roomie at the station, Cheung, gives the assignment officer his papers. The officer in the second shot has in the other hand a second set of papers he didn't have a moment before. (00:14:00)
Continuity mistake: When the assignment officer puts the papers inside Cheung's holster, he reaches for the holster (and grabs it) twice. (00:14:50)
Continuity mistake: When the secretary hands to the chairman of "Bel Fuse Limited" the phone, her hand is in a different spot of the receiver in the two shots. (00:15:30)
Continuity mistake: Police station, Cheung walks into the room where they play the extortion tape. The officer's hat changes position facing a different direction on the table between shots. (00:16:00)
Continuity mistake: Scene with the new store manager and love interest; Tuba pantomimes 'testing the water in the shower'. He puts his hands in his pocket when he realises that someone is glaring; that's in the first shot, because his hand is frozen in mid-air in the next shot instead. (00:18:10)
Continuity mistake: Under the stern watchful eye of the new female store manager, Sammo picks up a box of cereals. He looks at the gap he created on the shelf, and sees her. Notice that both boxes of Frosties at the side of the gap are facing him, but in the reverse shot, one box faces in, the other faces out. (00:18:20)
Continuity mistake: In her first scene at the store, Joanne wears a sweater tied on her front. When she looks at Tuba picking cereals, it is tied in a different way compared to the rest of the scene (the sleeves are evenly matched, while elsewhere one is very short). (00:18:25)
Continuity mistake: In the gag where Joanne asks Tuba where does he live, two ladies (could be mother and daughter age-wise, the younger one wears a black and yellow vest) are walking out of frame behind Joey Wang towards Sammo Hung, but they do not show up in the matching reverse shot, only in a later shot. (00:20:45)
Continuity mistake: When Rambo and Cheung sit down to begin explaining Tuba the situation, the lid on the instant noodles cup closes slightly on the second shot. (00:22:10)
Continuity mistake: Rambo makes his nosy colleague put a headset on and pumps the music. In the scene, Rambo is holding the Walkman in opposite directions in close-ups and the normal angle, as you can tell by the side the headphones are plugged in. (00:22:30)
Continuity mistake: Tuba is approached on the pier by a bad guy, or at least one guy with a really nasty 'stache. The guy puts his hands on his hips, and they are at a different height depending on the camera angle. (00:23:40)
