Factual error: When they tour the UK with The Rolling Stones the film states 1968, when in reality it was 1966. They then perform "Proud Mary", which Creedence Clearwater Revival did not release originally until 1969, and wasn't covered and didn't become a hit for Ike and Tina Turner until 1971.
What's Love Got To Do With It? (1993)
1 factual error
Directed by: Brian Gibson
Starring: Laurence Fishburne, Angela Bassett, Demetrice Cheathon, Dororthy Thorton, RaeVen Kelly, Virginia Capers
Continuity mistake: In one scene, Ike is dragging Tina down the hall to the bedroom, and you hear him saying, "Shut the f*** up!" three times, but when they show his face, his lips aren't moving.
Judge: I want you to be very sure about this. This means you're gonna walk out of here with absolutely nothing.
Tina Turner: Except my name. I'll give up all that other stuff, but only if I get to keep my name. I've worked too hard for it, your honor.
Ike Turner, Sr.: The name is mine. The name got my daddy's blood on it. If she wanna go, she can go wherever she wanna go, but the name stays home.
Trivia: Before being cast as Ike Turner, Laurence Fishburne had turned down the role no less than five times. He eventually changed his mind when he found out that Angela Bassett was given the part of Tina Turner.
