Factual error: In the opening race scenes, the cars on the track are out of date for 1989. The race car used by the aggressive driver (#23) who causes the fiery accident that kills Toretto senior is based upon a later model 1997-2002 Pontiac Grand Prix. Continuity mistake: When we first see Jack at the start take a drink he removes the straw from his mouth and spills some water. When the shot changes, his straw is still in his mouth. (00:01:40)

Continuity mistake: When the military is chasing Dom and Co into the minefield, all the military vehicles stop and only Dom's cars are in the minefield. However, in the next shot there are military trucks hitting the landmines. (00:18:05)
Continuity mistake: The debris on and around the landmine below Roman is constantly changing. Little bits of rock land and stay on the red pressure plate but then vanish in later shots. (00:20:20)

Factual error: When Tej and Roman get out the car in Edinburgh, the number plate, VC65 4RQ, is invalid for the UK. (01:12:30)
Continuity mistake: The damage to the lorry keeps changing throughout the chase scene. Most noticeable is just before the lorry takes all the school kids phones. The bumper is damaged and then the lorry hits some cars and it's repaired. (01:17:20)
Audio problem: When Dom and Jakob are arguing over the good things about their dad being dead, Jakob says "How was I supposed to know that car was gunna blow?" However, his mouth doesn't move. (01:33:50)
Continuity mistake: When Jakob is launched out of the tank's roof Dom's hand swaps between being in the middle of the steering wheel to not between shots. (01:53:28)
Other mistake: Jakob is fighting on top of "the beast" while it is being driven at speed. Yet neither his hair or clothing is blowing in the wind. (01:54:30)
Other mistake: Towards the end of the end credits there's a "Special thanks" sections, including sponsors such as Fiat Chrysler etc. The first person thanked is "Leslie Finaly", a misspelling of "Leslie Finlay." (02:22:30)
Factual error: In the beginning, it's 1989. The crew chief, Michael Rooker, is wearing Mechanix gloves... which didn't come out until the 1991 Daytona 500.
Continuity mistake: When they get to the bridge, Tej spins out a truck beside Dom then crosses the bridge, Dom and Jakob are still far away but Tej is already by the bridge.
