Other mistake: If you look at the monks when they're training, there are no twins with a goatee amongst their ranks, but when Sho Kosugi has to fight them because the Black Ninja somehow gained the ability to shoot fireballs that turn evil, you can see that he fights and knocks out the same dude thrice, or at the very least he gets up instantly between shots. Also, they were all together when possessed, but somehow they come at him from different parts of the temple. (00:01:16 - 01:21:05)
Continuity mistake: The ninja suits up during the opening credits; he reaches inside the weapon stash with his left hand to pick the shurikens, but in the following shot he draws back his right hand. (00:02:40)
Continuity mistake: When the first victim of the ninja arrives at the designated spot for the ambush, he stops the golf cart and in a long shot he reaches for his club. In the closer angle the girl on the cart is in a pose inconsistent with what previously shown, and moments later he asks the bodyguards to help him search the ball, holding the club in a pose that changes at the cut. Continuity mistake: Throughout the whole first fight scene the natural light is obviously different between shots. It is already noticeable at the very beginning when the golfer stands by the cart with much more sun on him in close-ups, but also even more obvious when the ninja downs the first opponent that falls in the shade but is lying fully in the sun as his partner assaults the not-so-elusive killer. Continuity mistake: At the start of the film, Hanjuro intimidates a bodyguard by crushing a golf ball with his hand. In the initial shot, his palm faces outward. In the next shot, his palm faces inward. (00:03:55)
Revealing mistake: During the movie, the ninja crushes with their bare hands a golf ball (in the opening fight) and a billiard ball (in the fight against Case). Both times the ball is replaced by a shell filled with talcum powder. It's especially conspicuous in the case of the cue ball, because the previous 'stunt' involved slicing one in half and the ball looked nothing like the one she 'pulverizes'. (00:04:00 - 00:38:35)
Revealing mistake: As the ninja starts mowing down people left and right before his victim tries to run him over with the horsepower of a little golf cart, you can see his sword is not actually hitting anybody, even when he's supposed to be stabbing and slashing them. (00:04:00)
Revealing mistake: The evil ninja blows a dart inside the barrel of a gun making it explode when the bodyguard fires. Forgetting the fact that the movement is unnatural and patently phony since the film is reversed, the dart also fully 'disappears' inside the gun and yet again when we see the guy about to shoot there's an inch-long of dart sticking out of the gun. Continuity mistake: When the ninja shows his super-strength by lifting the golf cart, his left-hand keeps changing position at the back of the vehicle. (00:04:40)
Continuity mistake: Hanjuro slashes a woman on the arm during the opening fight scene. In the close-up, she somehow got a wound on her shoulder that wasn't there before. (00:04:55)
Continuity mistake: The guards of the golf course arrive to the crime scene and approach the corpse. One of them grabs his radio and calls the cops. He's by the corpse of the attractive partner of the main victim; look closely and, without wanting to paint any intent in his action, he ends up with a handful of the actress' bare thigh. In the next shot he's talking on the radio with a firm grip on a more sensible limb; her arm. (00:05:25)
Revealing mistake: Police cars get to the golf course, where the ninja somehow is still hanging out in the open. The footage of the car doing a U turn beginning to chase him is sped-up to Benny Hill levels. (00:06:00)
Continuity mistake: After failing to outrun the patrol car on the dirt road (without attempting to lose it in the tree or anything), the ninja turns around and jumps over it. The younger cop in the passenger seat raises his hand and sticks it out of the window; it's there in two shots, and not in the close-up. (00:06:45)
Continuity mistake: When the cops try to kill the ninja blasting through the patrol car roof with the shotgun, the officer's hands swap position between shots. (00:06:50)
Audio problem: The first motorbike cop killed by the ninja screams in agony with his mouth properly closed. (00:07:05)
Continuity mistake: The police car that crashes into the lake has a perfectly intact roof; its roof was previously shot through, stabbed and punched through. (00:07:20)
Continuity mistake: When the second cop on a motorcycle falls into the lake, the stuntman deserves good cards from the judges for his dive, but in an earlier shot the ninja had already knocked him off the bike, into the dirt. (00:07:25)
Continuity mistake: During the golf course opening scene, a motorcycle cop gets kicked to the ground by the ninja swinging from a grappling hook. In the next shot, the cop somehow falls into the water hazard along with his motorcycle. (00:07:28)
Continuity mistake: During the opening fight scene, the evil ninja hangs onto the left side of a helicopter and uses his left foot to throw a shuriken at the pilot. The shuriken somehow hits the pilot on the right side of his face rather than the left. (00:09:15)
Continuity mistake: In the sequence where Hanjuro crashes the helicopter, the pilot disappears and reappears at random. (00:09:15)
Suggested correction: Actually no; he's still there even in the camera angle the second screenshot is from; the knee of the policeman that is fighting Hanjuro covers his head, and then the seat makes it impossible to see him again. You may have to slo-mo to spot it, but he's visible at the beginning of the shot.
