Character mistake: When the good guys plan their next moves at AMMO, they show on screen the profile of Taglin, the boss killed early in the movie by Armando. His profile says that he was born on 1/17/68. Then in the third paragraph, it says, "First arrest age 16, 4/20/82," and that he fully served 18 months in prison. The fourth says his second arrest was on 8/19/83. So, 14 years after his birth, he was 16, and he was arrested 14 months into his 18-month jail term. Got it. (01:06:05)
Character mistake: After the scene at the obese accountant's place, Rita is going through the case with Mike. She says, "Judge, prosecutor, criminal informant, the captain and you." She didn't mention the forensics expert, who is also on the board. (01:04:35)
Continuity mistake: In the scene at Picante's 'office', the camera cuts away for a split second when the unlikely accountant taunts Mike, calling him "butterscotch." His gold chain was under his tank top; now it's above. (01:03:45)
Continuity mistake: When Mike kicks Picante Jenkins's door open, the door closes shut behind Marcus and him, but is slightly open in inconsistent ways during the rest of the scene. (01:02:00)
Continuity mistake: In the scene of the sniping on Mike and Harris, in close-ups, Armando's face is fully lit, but when Zway-Lo is in frame, the shadow from the side is wider and there's a thin shadow (from the post) intersecting his right eyebrow. (00:57:25)
Continuity mistake: Watch Mike when he joins Captain Harris at the bleachers. The kid to his right (left of the frame) holds a phone in the closer view; he had none in the long shot. (00:54:20)
Continuity mistake: The biker assailant and Mike crash onto a table outside the Broadmore Hotel. The area they land on is in a large shade. The biker recovers a moment later and gets up in sunlight. (00:52:30)
Other mistake: When Marcus receives the phone call from Theresa after the bad car 'accident', the phone screen is blank in the wide angle, and in close-up displays a 10:35 time, which is incompatible with what was already shown before. Moreover, Marcus's right hand changes position on it/off it between shots. (00:51:20)
Continuity mistake: When Renny makes a splash on Theresa's car, the post casts a shadow on the radiator, next to an inch away from the Nissan logo. Mike and Marcus take their time to bicker for a few seconds, and when Marcus checks the car with its now embedded corpse, the shadow is already on a portion of the logo. (00:51:20)
Continuity mistake: Mike infiltrated the spa to try and stealthily deploy Marcus Jr, but he is spotted. Theresa was getting pampered with both hands crossed on her belly, the bow of her belt tied an inch away from her hands. In the reaction shot, her relaxed position begins with her hands on top of the bow. Moreover, she turns and raises her head in those close-ups, while from the other side she is still supine, back on the bed, masseuse's hands on her shoulders. (00:49:20)
Other mistake: After the blitz at the warehouse, Mike finds Marcus' messages on his phone. The time is 10:35. He has a brief heated exchange with the captain and "that guy" (there's always one) in the AMMO crew. Then he finally picks up one of Marcus' calls at 1:19. It wasn't a 3-hour argument. (00:45:25)
Continuity mistake: When Mike bends Manny over the butcher table, Manny's left hand goes from one side of the cutting board corner to the other. (00:33:20)
Deliberate mistake: To meet Manny, Mike walks through his store. The last obstacle is a PVC curtain. The camera has to go through the curtain, moving it and thus revealing its presence. However, it is definitely a deliberate artistic choice. (00:32:50)
Other mistake: In the montage showing Mike and Marcus' parallel (but also wildly divergent) lives, Marcus asks Alexa to turn down the volume. However, the video he is watching pauses instead. In the next shot, it is paused again, but on a different frame. And before the fan goes haywire and hits the screen, the screen is already turned off (but the breaker hadn't tripped yet). (00:32:00)
Continuity mistake: When Armando uploads the video of the shooting, Mike goes down in a different way than the original sequence, and the passers-by in the background are also different. (00:28:55)
Continuity mistake: Mike proposes a toast at the wedding to his "bad boys for life" motto. Reggie and Megan raise their glasses over their heads in the wide shot, but they have yet to in their close-up. Notice also Captain Howard next to them, as he is in every shot from that angle, but absent in the wider one. (00:23:30)
Continuity mistake: The first time we see the AMMO base, Captain Howard is visiting it to be debriefed about the progress in the investigation. Dorn mentions that they are investigating 4Chan. There's nobody standing next to him to his right, but then there's a close-up of his hands typing away at the computer, and there's a slender arm with short sleeves by his side. Rita is at the other side of the desk and Kelly in that scene is wearing long sleeves. (00:18:35)
Visible crew/equipment: In the opening shot of the foot race preparations, when Mike says that stretching is cheating, the camera casts a visible reflection on the sidewalk when it pans. (00:14:55)
Continuity mistake: When Marcus calls Mike a "dumba$$" about Rita, his bottle of product placement is tilted towards him, but in Mike's reaction shot ("What?"), it's perfectly straight. (00:13:45)
Continuity mistake: When Rita looks at baby Marcus's picture on old Marcus's phone, she holds it differently between shots. (00:13:00)
