Continuity mistake: In the morning videochat opening the movie, Daphne asks Velma about the gerbils. With the camera behind Velma you can see she is using her right hand to eat the snacks, but when her face is occupying the whole screen she is using her left hand instead. (00:03:05)
Revealing mistake: Velma just learned that Daphne is going to attend her same school, and does not look thrilled. Spooky music starts, with a zoom on some elements of Velma's nerdy room. And one of the things she must be a huge fan of is our good friend the Lorem Ipsum, since behind the post-it sticker notes ("Why?" "THEY are watching") you can tell the papers pinned to the wall are just that; filler text gibberish. You can read literally "Lorem ipsum" under the headline of the "Internship at Bloom" clipping. Factual error: The gazette clipping at the beginning of the movie where Velma wrote her disdain for Carol is dated Thursday, March 25. Neither year when the story could be taking place based on other hints had March 25 happen on a Thursday. (00:03:50)
Other mistake: The second time we see the 'French toast' scene, Daphne says the line on top of the stairs in a different way from the first. She is simply standing with both feet on the penultimate step, while the first time around she began saying the line when one of her feet was still in motion. It also takes her twice as long, no cuts, to get to the bottom of the stairs. (00:04:30 - 00:16:30)
Continuity mistake: Daphne is having breakfast with her family. During the whole sequence, knife and especially fork in Sarah Jeffery's hands change position when the camera angle changes, almost every time. (00:04:50 - 00:05:55)
Revealing mistake: Daphne during breakfast opens a book about Saturn. The book is an obvious movie prop (the name of the author, "Cassie Miggins", is the name of the actual prop master of the movie), where the 'obvious' part is the fact that the page Daphne reads in close-up differs from quality and even paper weight from the rest of the tome, looking more like a poor laser print or photocopy in B&W glued to the page. It even has two mistakes in the first line!"This planets most impressive feature is it's ring system" (00:05:50)
Continuity mistake: Daphne, book about Saturn in front of her, says that "school will be awesome." Her mom is looking at her with her fork pointed downwards. Close-up on Nadine Ellis, and her fork is pointed up. (00:06:00)
Other mistake: For some reason, getting to school Velma does not simply fail to change path for anyone in her way, but actually, deliberately, gets in the way. During that sequence, she ends up bumping a girl with a muffin, and stomping on it. But the girl with the muffin was already in the same spot (just past a couple who is chatting) well before, when Velma moved between other two chatters, with a guy on a scooter changing course. Continuity mistake: When Daphne bends over to pick up the badge, two guys are crossing the screen moving left to right; one of them is a dude with a maroon vest and a green plaid shirt, the other one has a maroon sweater. When the chat about Daphne's lucky moment is over, they both walk in opposite direction in separate shots. A girl with purple clothes is also recycled, peeking in frame when Velma is briefly shown, and then in the same frame as Green Shirt Guy. (00:07:00)
Continuity mistake: Daphne has just set food inside Ridge Valley High. "This is incredible, she says", and at the cut there's a couple of students who are engaged in some animated conversation. But one of the two (dark skinned guy with tan pants and a denim jacket) appears in the shots before and after that one, and he is walking solo. (00:07:15)
Continuity mistake: During Daphne's introduction to the school, meeting the various other kids, her badge frequently switches orientation between shots, as you can tell by the position of the lips of the logo, tilted to the left or to the right. (00:07:30 - 00:10:00)
Continuity mistake: When Carol points the Azalea phone at Griffin Griffiths and friends, they are having their dude-bro chat with Mike and Ryder kinda turned away from the phone, but in the close-up they are all leaning against the wall in an orderly fashion. (00:07:45)
Continuity mistake: The time shown on Carol's phone (9:35) is inconsistent with the time displayed in the corridor clock right after, which is a little earlier than 10:35, and that changes again when Spencer and Mikayla tag along. (00:08:00)
Continuity mistake: Daphne just met Spencer and Mikayla. In this scene, multiple continuity errors occur, practically at every shot For instance, the two girls close to the glass cabinet change position, and in the first shot ("Wait, your mom invented MatchMouth?") a tall girl and a boy with an afro walk by, disappear, popping by just before a new cut, when they disappear again, reappear, etc. (00:08:20)
Continuity mistake: When Carola shows Daphne the Bloom Bracket waving her arm at it, there's a sudden cut in the middle of the gesture, and suddenly people in the corridor have changed position. Moreover, right before the camera cuts away one more time, a black person is walking on the left of the frame, and he is walking again behind Daphne a few seconds later (when she is staring at the board after the word "extracurriculars" is spoken). Continuity mistake: Moving away from Daphne during their first chat, Velma trips on the crazy cleaning lady's mop. In Daphne's reaction shot, behind her there's someone (white jacket with 3 stripes) in front of a locker that does not appear before or afterwards. (00:10:50)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the first day at Ridge Valley High, the light flickers when Daphne is in the front of her locker. She closes it to investigate. The action spans across two separate shots, but she has her hand at different height. The first time her hand is on the lock, the second time much lower. (00:12:30)
