Other mistake: The story starts about two weeks into the school year, making it late August or early September. Max's dad got home early, some time before 5:00 PM, and Lucas was at Max's bedroom window a little after the two hours he had been home from the mall, so it was now some time before 7:00 PM - too early in the evening for it to be after dark walking to Soren's house for the "kissing party." Timewise, the foliage also doesn't always sync. Sometimes, all the trees are lush green, other times the trees have partly or already turned orange, and when Max removes the drone from the box after the girls drop the Good Boys off 1.7 miles from home, there are fallen orange leaves on the brick pavement.
Character mistake: Lucas says he loves "Ascension, rules, and anti-drug campaigns", so would not be likely to encourage Max to go to Soren's party after his father grounded him... or ask what his father would do about it (double-ground him?). Even though Lucas tells Max that he has "grown a lot" in the two hours after getting home and talking to his parents about all that happened that day (which they didn't believe), we aren't told in what way(s) he has grown - but it would not be favoring violation of rules. Also, Lucas later tells Hannah and Lily at Soren's house that he loves "Ascension, rules, anti-drug campaigns, and grilled cheese." This indicates that his view on rules has not changed, reinforcing the assertion that it was out of character for Lucas to encourage Max to go Soren's party while grounded.
Continuity mistake: At the skate park, when Atticus asks Max and Thor if they want to see something, Atticus has three friends with him but only two of his friends show up in the woods where they sip a beer.
Other mistake: Mr. Newman (Max's dad) automatically assuming that Max was to blame for using the drone and wrecking the room can be viewed as a mistake when certain factors are taken into consideration. In the opening scene, Max and his dad are presented as having a good father-son relationship; Mr. Newman even refers to Max as his "buddy" and says he is proud of him. Max tells his dad he won't touch the drone. When Max's dad calls to tell him he will be home early, Max sounds cheerful and does not let on that anything is wrong. Hence, it would make more sense for Mr. Newman to believe that Max's little sister was responsible for the mess - she would be less likely to know how to use and steer the drone, causing a lot of damage in the room before she could get the drone under control or the drone crashed. Why Max never bothered to worry that his mother (or his little sister, for that matter) would notice that the drone was missing is another flaw.
Continuity mistake: After Max's dad tells him he is grounded and the Good Boys fight/argue, Max walks away without his backpack (and the Drone's box, which would contain the recharging base, instructions, and warranty information?). A little later, Max is walking along the road with his backpack on.
Continuity mistake: During the lunch scene when Soren is asking Max to his kissing party, the background changes and the placement of the table in relation to the double doors varies. The kids sitting at the table and Max standing do not move. Sometimes the background (behind Soren) is a solid wall with posters and other times it appears to be the cafeteria counter with microwave ovens and/or available foods (e.g, oranges, ketchup, mustard). The table is perpendicular to the double doors but a little later the doors are at a slant.
Other mistake: Max was supposed to be more developmentally mature than Thor and Lucas and going through puberty but there were no indications of this. He still had a child's voice, did not have any facial hair (or "pubes"), and did not appear to have started a growth spurt. Even though he had hormones raging through his body, he did not have one pimple (zit). [Make-up artists have put zits on many adults to make them look younger in teen movies.] The co-writers deliberately used 12-year-olds to make them look the part and convince the audience that they were naive, but Max, especially, did not look the part.
Other mistake: At the party, Max did not have anywhere from which to pull out the "necklace" (anal beads) to give to Brixlee. It apparently was not in his pants' pockets or his little leather jacket, and he did not have a backpack with him. The beads were simply too big to have hidden them under his clothes.
Other mistake: Near the end when the Good Boys are fighting/arguing, Max tells Thor that he skipped the "Rock of Ages" audition because he didn't think it was cool. Thor missed the audition because Max got him and Lucas to skip school in order to go to the mall and buy a replacement drone.
Other mistake: Hannah's bag (purse) never reappeared and after the first day when she said it contained her license and phone, she never asked for them again! What 17-18 year-old would not be concerned about her driver's license or cell phone? The next morning at the playground across from the school, Lily even said, "Give us the bag or I will hurt you." Hannah was driving without a license.
Other mistake: If the Good Boys gave the cop the Molly in the vitamin bottle, where did they get the vitamin bottle they gave to the girls in the mall parking lot?
Suggested correction: They got it from Benji when the girls dropped them off at the frat house.
Other mistake: The amount of time that lapsed between the Good Boys leaving/skipping school (around 8:00 AM?) and Max's dad calling to say he'd be home early (some time before 5:00 PM) was excessive. Even if it took the Good Boys two hours to get to the mall, they got a ride halfway home and had 1.7 miles to get home. If it was now around noon (?) or within school hours, why would Max's dad call him to say he was going to be home early? If it was closer to 3:00 or 4:00 PM, where were the boys after leaving the mall, especially since they wanted to get back ASAP to replace the drone at home?
Other mistake: When the Good Boys are riding from the mall with the girls, Lucas says, "Everyone knows you meet your best friends in kindergarten", implying that's where the Good Boys met. However, in an earlier scene, Lucas told Claude that he met Max and Thor "the summer he moved there" and they started a dog-washing business and made $8.00 which they used to buy the Ascension cards. (They wouldn't be in kindergarten in the summer or be old enough to start a business).
Other mistake: The double-sided dildo used to hold the store's door closed and keep the cop inside was not among the "weapons" that Thor found in his parents' closet. Where did it come from?
Other mistake: Max tells the neighbor girl they were using the drone to follow a family of turtles [should be tortoises] and think the drone crashed in the back yard. The yard is fenced, which means turtles/tortoises could not be in the neighbor's yard.
Suggested correction: Don't forget they were lying.
Okay, I'll try to remember... but are you insinuating that if they weren't lying, the turtles/tortoises could have gone through the fence and into the neighbor's yard?
Continuity mistake: At the sleepover (supposedly, Wednesday night), the Good Boys are supposed to go to the skate park the next day after school, but they are there before they are in school on Thursday.
Continuity mistake: When they are trying to pop Lucas' arm back into its socket he has a ball gag in his mouth. Watch, as the depth of him sucking on the ball gag changes. Sometimes it's near the front of his mouth, sometimes he has it almost completely swallowed.
Suggested correction: I rewatched the scene three times and I don't think it is a continuity mistake. It is true that sometimes the ball is mostly outside of the lips and other times it is mostly in the mouth. But there is a pattern - out, in, out, in, out. I get the impression that the depth of the ball in Lucas' mouth correlates with his breathing (inhaling or exhaling) and/or varies with his arm being pulled by Max and Thor. The ball goes lower in his mouth when Max and Thor start yanking.
