Revealing mistake: Baca is using a pistol to shoot the zombies towards the end and still has this same pistol at the end. When he's on the ground about to shoot himself to stop from turning, it shows a close up of his pistol which reveals it's a 6mm BB gun. (01:20:15)
Revealing mistake: After the zombies get loose inside the compound and attack the civilian sector, a woman in a blue bandanna gets jumped and pulled down behind a counter and killed. A blood spurt flies up to signify she's been bitten, however the splash of blood comes from in front of the counter. (01:16:00)
Plot hole: Max, an intelligent zombie, gets into the air duct system and is crawling around above peoples' heads. This is an aluminum metal tube with open vents and he's a clumsy, untrained zombie. He climbs over peoples' heads in the vents banging the metal but nobody ever hears him. When Zoe and Baca kiss in the hallway, he even growls in anger and shifts around, not even 10 feet away from them growling through an open vent. Yet nobody ever hears him, until its convenient for the plot later and a guy thinks it's rats. (00:41:30)
Continuity mistake: Lucy goes up to Max, taunting him and he snarls at her. In this shot the chain holding his right arm is tight against the wall like usual. But in the next shot as Lucy is backing up with her pistol, there is lots of slack in the chain with it resting along the ground. It's tight against the wall again holding him in the next shots. Revealing mistake: When Wendy is going to look for her boyfriend Steve and sees the blood dripping from the air duct, she reaches up towards it and you can see there is a spot of dried prop blood on her arm that's been partly wiped off before her hand ever comes in contact with the blood. (00:43:55)
Character mistake: After Baca and the other soldiers hear Zoe's shots, they take off to try and find her. It cuts to Zoe wandering the hall with her gun ready and backing up, where suddenly she backs into Baca who for some reason is also walking backwards and they get a jump scare. Only this makes absolutely no sense on Baca's part. It was in a doorway with the other men following him and the others were facing towards Zoe and could see her. Baca was leading them and yet was for some reason walking backwards through the door so that this jump scare could happen. (00:31:40)
Continuity mistake: When Baca's Hummer starts throwing up steam and smoke from the engine, they slow down to stop and get out to check it out. As they are slowing down and coming to a stop, the camera shows a view from inside looking out the front windshield and there is a guard rail on the side of the rode that is right next to them as they stop. When the camera changes angles to outside as Baca opens the door, the guard rail is suddenly at least a good 5 or 6 car lengths behind them. (00:23:30)
Continuity mistake: After the crew inside the second Hummer talk about the foods they miss, it shows a shot of them going around a turn with the rear Hummer in the lane over and with the front Hummer half covered in shadows from the trees. In the next close up just before the lead Hummer starts to smoke, it is suddenly fully in the sun and the rear Hummer is suddenly right behind it. (00:23:20)
Character mistake: Zoe states that Lilly's condition is very contagious and will spread through the camp if they don't go out and get the proper medical supplies they need. She puts Lilly in quarantine... and then proceeds to visit Lilly with no protective equipment. No mask, and even touches Lilly with her bare hands before going back out to the rest of the people. (00:19:20)
Continuity mistake: Zoe and her friend are walking out of the medical training room at the start and she has her phone/ipod in her hands. In the next shot in a close up, she's suddenly putting her hands in her pockets. (00:04:35)
