Superman IV: The Quest for Peace mistake picture

Factual error: When Superman addresses the UN, the delegate presumably representing the United Kingdom appears behind an "England" sign - "England" is not an international entity represented at the UN, while the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is. (00:32:20)

Factual error: Superman places the nuclear missiles in the giant disposable bag in space, throws them at the sun, and the bag burns up when it hits the sun. In reality, the bag would have burned up long before hitting the sun. (00:35:35)

Casual Person

Continuity mistake: Clark grabs the crystal with both hands, and slowly starts retrieving his left hand. When the shot changes, his left arm is in a totally different position. (01:12:15)

Revealing mistake: After Nuclear Man destroys the cab's hood, the shot changes and there's a thick string running behind him all along the car, and the cab driver is stretching out to pull it. Probably he was activating some sort of bad FX.

Plot hole: Superman traps the supervillain (whose power depends on sunlight) inside of an elevator to incapacitate him. Superman then ripped the elevator out of the building. He then plants it on the far side of the moon. Later on, sunlight starts to shine into the elevator through a slit at where the doors meet. The villain of course recharges and comes after Superman again. Now, if light could get through that crack there, then why couldn't it get through when the elevator was ripped out of the building in BROAD DAYLIGHT?

Visible crew/equipment: When Superman and the super villain are fighting on the moon, when Superman flies in and lands at the beginning of the fight, you can see the cables that are suspending him.

Plot hole: When Nuclear Man sees a picture of Lacy Warfield on the newspaper he decides to go after her. When confronted by Superman he asks "Where is the woman?" Superman responds that he'll never find her. How could Superman know which woman Nuclear Man was talking about? There was no indication that Superman knew that Nuclear Man was looking for Lacy.

Suggested correction: Standard hero response, Villain wants something Hero denies it. This could be replaced with anything. "Where is the crystal" "You'll never find it" Doesn't matter that he knows who or what it is. Villain wants it, tell him he can't have it.

False. This dialogue is part of many deleted scenes involving a plot where Nuclear Man searches for Lacy.

Continuity mistake: When Nuclear Man arrives on Earth, he enters a shady place which makes him lose his power and cools his body, producing some frozen-like smoke. The next two times that he enters a dark place (inside the elevator and in space) he doesn't produce the smoke.

Suggested correction: The fire hydrant in question is actually two. The one they first pass is slightly faded with chipped paint. The next shot you see a different one that is fully painted red. The next shot shows the crowd passing the first hydrant seen.

Movie Nut

Lex Luthor: Lenny, I've always considered you the Dutch Elm disease in my family tree.
