Trivia: When Rory is walking down the street wearing the Predator mask, there is a bright red/orange alien walking toward him. This is a nod to the original Predator costume that looked like a big bug, the red/orange color was used to film the stealth camouflage scenes. The bug suit was scrapped after a few test shots proved how silly it looked. Jean-Claude Van Damme was in the original costume, but he was let go when the costume was scrapped. (00:45:20)
The Predator (2018)
1 picture
Directed by: Shane Black
Starring: Thomas Jane, Olivia Munn, Jacob Tremblay, Boyd Holbrook, Yvonne Strahovski
Continuity mistake: After the small predator kills everyone in the back of the truck he grabs a left arm that becomes a right arm. (00:37:25)
Coyle: Hey, Baxley! If your mom's vagina were a video game, it'd be rated E for everyone.
Trivia: Spoilers. Originally, Shane Black wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger to make a cameo in the end - he would have been the "Predator Killer" that rises from the device right before the credits. When he decided not to return, the "Predator Killer" was changed into a highly advanced suit of armor.
Question: The movie Predator, is supposedly canon to only the first Predator film and never acknowledges the second film from even happening. Sort of a Superman Returns deal where it's a sequel to an earlier film, retconning the later films. This movie, however, acknowledges both of the first films but nothing about Predators is ever mentioned. But considering the premise of Predators, maybe just nobody in the film researching these aliens knows about the events of that film, however unlikely. So my question is this movie canon with all 3 previous films, or does it not count Predators?
Answer: Well, in the case of Predators, it was violent criminals, mercenaries and military being randomly kidnapped and dumped on an alien planet. From the perspective of humans, it would appear that the criminals and mercenaries had gone missing in a more mundane fashion or simply died. If the Predators were covert about it, the Predator researchers would not be suspicious at all. So it's entirely possible it's canon.
Answer: The second film is actually subtly acknowledged by Jake Busey playing a scientist named Keyes, implying that he is the son of Peter Keyes from the second film who was played by his father Gary.

Suggested correction: I agree this APPEARS to be correct, but I think it is questionable - it COULD be the left arm. The covered thumbs-up arm the Predator extended to the driver had its fingers curled toward the palm, not straight out like they were. There was a zigzag pattern on the glove's wrist, but this could be the opposite (outer) side if it also had the pattern, not the inner side. The thumb looked broken - giving the image that it might have been the right thumb, but actually the left. You MIGHT be right.

The mistake is valid, no correction needed. It's a right hand that extends through the opening and a left arm seen on the floor. A key factor is the knuckles location, so it doesn't matter if the thumb looked broken.
Bishop73
I watched several times and still believe it could be the left hand. The way the fingers are folded (curled) toward the palm, they look like left knuckles.
KeyZOid
If the hand was a left hand, then you wouldn't see the knuckles.
Bishop73
No matter which way fingers are folded under toward the palm, there will be knuckles showing on either side. (Make a fist and see for yourself!) No further replies from me here.
KeyZOid
Then you misunderstand what I mean by knuckles. I'm talking about the metacarpophalangeal joint, not the interphalangeal joint.
Bishop73
No, I didn't... and knuckles are knuckles! [Now, no additional replies from me here.].
