Continuity mistake: What top Dr. Casey Brackett is wearing (or not) in the decontamination chamber changes. Initially, she removes an off-white short-sleeved T-shirt-like top before putting on the protective gown. When she returns to the chamber, an automated voice says to "remove outer garment", which she does - but she is now wearing a sleeveless off-white top that was not under the gown. When she ducks down to hide from the Predator, she does not have ANY top on. (There may two+ different short-sleeved tops). (00:22:33 - 00:31:28)

Continuity mistake: After the small predator kills everyone in the back of the truck he grabs a left arm that becomes a right arm. (00:37:25)

Suggested correction: I agree this APPEARS to be correct, but I think it is questionable - it COULD be the left arm. The covered thumbs-up arm the Predator extended to the driver had its fingers curled toward the palm, not straight out like they were. There was a zigzag pattern on the glove's wrist, but this could be the opposite (outer) side if it also had the pattern, not the inner side. The thumb looked broken - giving the image that it might have been the right thumb, but actually the left. You MIGHT be right.

KeyZOid

The mistake is valid, no correction needed. It's a right hand that extends through the opening and a left arm seen on the floor. A key factor is the knuckles location, so it doesn't matter if the thumb looked broken.

Bishop73

I watched several times and still believe it could be the left hand. The way the fingers are folded (curled) toward the palm, they look like left knuckles.

KeyZOid

If the hand was a left hand, then you wouldn't see the knuckles.

Bishop73

No matter which way fingers are folded under toward the palm, there will be knuckles showing on either side. (Make a fist and see for yourself!) No further replies from me here.

KeyZOid

Then you misunderstand what I mean by knuckles. I'm talking about the metacarpophalangeal joint, not the interphalangeal joint.

Bishop73

No, I didn't... and knuckles are knuckles! [Now, no additional replies from me here.].

Revealing mistake: The covering of snow was not real snow. When the trick-or-treaters are first seen, there are images of footprints (shoeprints) in the snow, but the trick-or-treaters walking over the "snow" do not leave any footprints. (00:44:38)

Continuity mistake: The little boy, Rory, gets to a baseball field after his mask blows a hole in some guy's chest. On the field the bulldog comes up to him and then the Predator dog shows up. Rory is standing there and has the Predator's gauntlet on his left arm, but in the shot where he and the bulldog look up at the other Predator dog, suddenly the gauntlet is on his right arm and his left arm is up and empty, only for it to jump back to his left arm for the rest of the scene. (00:51:26)

Quantom X

Other mistake: It isn't known if Rory was diagnosed with ASD, but some of his behaviors and the two classmates in school making a reference to his "Asperger's" indicate or suggest this is the case. While Rory may have been "faking" some mannerisms in hope that the two bullies would leave him alone, his (hyper) sensitivity to noise (sound) was displayed after school when a dog was barking at Rory. However, Rory did not put his hands over his ears in the ball field despite the loud gunshots close to his ears. (00:51:54)

KeyZOid

Other mistake: At the baseball field after Quinn (Rory's dad) slid through the green slime, he only had green slime under his neck on the front of his shirt - none on his pants or back of shirt where expected. (00:52:52 - 00:53:37)

Plot hole: As the evolved Predator's ship takes off it leaves Casey Bracket alone in hilly forest terrain. The ship then flies a long distance before crashing and the Predator and McKenna start fighting, just for Bracket to show up and help out of nowhere. Impossible for her to cover that distance that fast in hilly forest terrain.

Plot hole: Quinn gave the box containing the Predator's equipment to a Mexican and told him to send it to a P.O. Box in the U.S. He also gave the man an unknown amount of money for the postage. Without questioning IF the Mexican would follow his instructions and had enough money, sending a package internationally is not that simple. The package would need to go through customs and several documents would need to be completed. The contents must be disclosed. It is doubtful it would pass Customs.

Continuity mistake: After the small predator wakes up at the lab he holds a woman as a shield using his right arm then the left then the right again.

oswal13

Continuity mistake: When Casey tries to leave Quinn and the others at the motel he throws her her bag but a second earlier it was already on the bed.

oswal13

Continuity mistake: After Mckenna holds the small sphere in his hand, a bag appears beside him that was not there before.

oswal13

Continuity mistake: After Treager leaves the chopper at night, he is holding the box of gum in his right hand and the candy in his left but in the next shot he has the gum in his right.

oswal13

Continuity mistake: After the predator crashes, McKenna jumps and falls with his machine gun on his left, then it disappears, then is on his right.

Casey Bracket: Do you have a plan? Ex-sniper with ptsd and a team that's mental? You're insane, right?
Coyle: Yeah.

Trivia: Spoilers. Originally, Shane Black wanted Arnold Schwarzenegger to make a cameo in the end - he would have been the "Predator Killer" that rises from the device right before the credits. When he decided not to return, the "Predator Killer" was changed into a highly advanced suit of armor.

Question: Why would the main character send the obviously dangerous and unstable alien tech to his house? I could see no other reason then to just simply get the plot to move along but it's obvious he doesn't have a consistent stable relationship with his son and wife - why send the tech there? And on top of that with no explanation to them as to what it is? On top of that he seemed like he was a respected member of the military - there was no reason for him to go against that and hide this information.

tlaxio

Answer: He actually states that he sent it to a P.O. box because he didn't want it at his wife's house and potentially endanger her. But since he hadn't been paying his P.O. box fees, the postman brought the box along with some other mail to the house.

Phaneron

Answer: McKenna states that he assumed his estranged wife would just put the box with the rest of his stuff and leave it alone. He doesn't trust sending it to anyone else because they might open the box and have questions. As you suggest, it is indeed quite an egregious plot contrivance because why would his wife be any less prone to open his mail than anyone else? And in fact, Rory does open the box so the plan didn't even work. McKenna hides the tech from the military because he wants the credit for discovering alien life, and he also fears the government will try to cover up the discovery, which of course they do.
