Corrected entry: The film is set in 1977. There is a scene where the radio is playing 1010 WINS and the announcer comes on and says "1010 WINS, you give us 22 minutes, we'll give you the world!" When 1010 WINS first started, they used to say, "You give us 10 minutes, we'll give you the world!" They didn't start saying 22 minutes until the 80s.
Corrected entry: In one scene there is a POW/MIA flag being flown on a building. This type of POW flag was not flown regularly during this time period. It was first flown on National POW/MIA Recognition Day in 1988.
Correction: The POW/MIA flag flew over the White House in 1982, and was designed (and flown) from 1971. At first it was meant for small groups of people, so it's reasonable to say by 1977 someone in New York had a POW/MIA flag for personal reasons.
Corrected entry: When the 44' killer has been found out, it was mainly due to a witness seeing him drive off with a parking ticket on his windscreen. Earlier in the film (in the scene where he is contemplating killing the police officer) he removed the ticket in full view of the camera and put it inside his car.
Correction: The woman that runs away with the dog passes the car and looks behind herself at the killer. She's in the house already as he goes back toward the car and pulls the ticket off. It is not said in the film that he drove off with the ticket still on the windscreen, just that there had been one seen on it.
Correction: Http://www.adslogans.co.uk/site/pages/home/hall-of-fame.php?searchresult=1&sstring=wins+news That slogan has been around since they changed formats in 1965. It was already being parodied in the 1970s.
