Directed by: Roland Emmerich
Starring: Kurt Russell, James Spader, Jaye Davidson, Viveca Lindfors, Alexis Cruz
Col. O'Neil had secret orders to bring a nuclear bomb to the planet and detonate it as a preemptive strike if it appeared as though Earth would be attacked by an alien threat. Ra discovered the bomb, transported it to his ship, and reconfigured it - making it much more destructive - intent on sending it through the stargate to explode on Earth. Col. O'Neil, Dr. Jackson, and their team from Earth assist the people of Abydos in a successful battle against Ra. They discover what Ra has done with the bomb and, at the last moment, while Ra is attempting to escape through his ship, they transport the bomb up to his ship, utterly destroying him. Col. O'Neil returns to Earth. Dr. Jackson remains on Abydos with his newly wed wife, Sha'uri.

Trivia: The producers, the casting agents, really wanted Jaye Davidson, from "The Crying Game", to play the head bad guy, but Jaye said, "No more movies", so they kept upping the money they would pay him - this is before actors nowadays get phenomenal money - and it was only when they got to a million dollars that he said yes.

Chosen answer: When Ra saw the bomb, he realised that it was a few seconds away from detonation. There wouldn't have been enough time to send it back.
