Continuity mistake: When Jon Baker wakes up, the on screen caption says "8.26 AM." Then Jon staggers his way to the bathroom, passing in front of the clock which shows 8:05. (00:01:00)
Continuity mistake: When Castillo shoots through his own partner, he falls down with his butt roughly where the yellow line on the asphalt is. When he is shown again, he's lying down some meters away. (00:06:40)
Continuity mistake: When Jon decks the sparring partner during the grappling test, the guy lies flat on the symbol on the mat, which was not visible when he fell down, and is visible behind Jon when he stutters his apology to the instructor. (00:07:20)
Continuity mistake: When Ponch shakes Ray's hand the first day, Ray has his left arm in a rather awkward position across his own chest, suddenly fixed at the cut. (00:23:50)
Continuity mistake: When Jon's bike gets knocked down by the truck that backed into it, the road had distinct shadows in front of the vehicles in the shoots from outside, while the same scene seen from the bar counter had virtually no shadows. (00:24:25)
Continuity mistake: When Jon is identifying the type of motorcycle that's in the video his partner asks him about, Jon is putting on his helmet. When the camera cuts to the other side of Jon after his partner asks "How could you know? You haven't seen it", Jon's hands are in a different position. (00:29:35)
Continuity mistake: The red Ferrari moves 2 feet to the left after being pulled over. (00:30:55 - 00:32:20)
Continuity mistake: Ponch escorts the senior citizen back to his Ferrari, but Jon tries to jerk him back to the police car. During this back-and-forth exchange, the natural light of the scene changes in a blink. (00:32:20)
Continuity mistake: When the corrupt cops are checking out of the (cheesily photoshopped, but I assume it's intentional for comedy) pics of Poncharello in Redding, Kurtz says "It's the only way he's ever going to get clean", talking about his heroin-addicted son. The sentence is a bad, jumpy edit, he's leaning against the chair with his hand in a very sudden way. (00:34:10)
Continuity mistake: When Jon talks to his ex in the pool, she wringing her hair in a ponytail in front of her left shoulder, several times, but in the reverse shot it's like it never happens, the hair every time is still and not being pulled or raised. (00:35:00)
Continuity mistake: Jon is scarfing down a burger at the Tommy's kiosk while Ponch is jerking off in the bathroom. He gets a mess of mustard all over the shirt, down to the belt, and to the pants. The pants stain vanishes right away for the remainder of the scene (but shows up later in another scene). (00:35:40)
Continuity mistake: When Jon saves Ponch from the truck, the truck crushes the bike under its front tires, which suddenly become another set of wheels in the shot right before the big explosion. (00:43:20)
Continuity mistake: As Jon punches Ponch, he does not mess up his headset and glasses much, if at all. But the following closeup of Michael Peña has him all discombobulated, with crooked glasses and the mic up his nose for added comedy value. (00:43:35)
Continuity mistake: Jon fell over on the rainy day and he can't get up. When he blindly goes for his phone, clothes he had on the bedstand (and that he could have put on) disappear between shots, and when he knocks the magazine off the bedstand and the pillow underneath, there is no trace of the tube that is instead perched on it later in the scene. (00:46:10)
Continuity mistake: When Ponch is texting just before Face Time starts, the battery power of his phone is at 21%. The camera begins rolling and on the side you see the charge being suddenly at 36% when the toes are in frame, 37% when the knees, panties and breasts are in view for the first time, 35% for the second boob shoot and 36% again for the last bit. (01:14:25)
Continuity mistake: In the opening chase scene, a Chevy SS is used as the getaway car. Then a Chevy Malibu is torched at the shipping dock.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning when the drivers are in the getaway car, they accidentally shot out the back window. When faced with the choice to put the guns on the floor or a barrel in their mouth the cops move in and shoot at the car, shattering a now unbroken rear window.
Continuity mistake: When John takes off to chase the Ferrari, in the background Ponch turns on his red and blue lights. In a close up the lights then aren't on, then in a wide shot they are again.
Continuity mistake: When they go to the house of the pilot who jumped out of the helicopter, as they pull up on the motorcycles at the house, he loops around to back up and park, and they park close to the driveway entrance. In the next shot of the motorcycles parked, they are nowhere near the entrance.
