Underworld: Blood Wars (2017)

Corrected entry: Michael is portrayed as having been killed by having his throat cut. This contradicts prior films, which portray him as being far too powerful to die by traditional means. (Ex. In the second film, he is repeatedly shot and impaled, sustaining far greater damage to his body, but returns to life upon going into a hibernation-like state for a short period.) Unless he is brought back in a future installment, the portrayal of his death makes no sense in the context of the series.

Correction: Not only was his throat slit, but all his blood was drained from his body, which is different than the other times he was nearly killed. The blood is the key. However, Selene had to intervene at least 3 times to save Michael. For example, she cut off Viktor's head as he was about to kill Michael. But, as you say, even though the audience is lead to believe he's dead, it could just be a cliffhanger and we may find out a drop of blood was left in his body, or through some other method he fully recovers.

Plot hole: This movie introduces, rather casually, nightshade as a vampire vulnerability. It works practically as in the videogame Skyrim, so whoever wrote it in the script most definitely played it. The problem of course is that a toxin that can murder most vampires and indefinitely paralyze the strongest elders, is a world-breaking concept that would have ended the war hundreds of years earlier, and instead is never used before or since the small scene it's instrumental to. Foreign translations which identify the nightshade with the more specific Belladonna plant (one of the most commonly used herbs since the ancient times) further aggravate the problem.

Trivia: "Blood Wars" has been confirmed to be the final "Underworld" to star Kate Beckinsale, and possibly the final film in the series. It was originally intended for there to be one final entry in the series featuring Beckinsale's trademark character Selene to finish off her storyline, but Beckinsale stated in late 2018 that she felt she had done "enough" films in the series and wasn't interested in reprising her role for a sixth film. After the film under-performed at the box office, there has also been no news on any future films, with series co-creator Len Wiseman instead expressing interest in rebooting the franchise as a television series.

Question: If Amelia had David towards the end of the 21st century during her reign, how is it possible that Viktor would be suspicious of her whereabouts and send Semira to find her?

Answer: Amelia was a Vampire Elder. She had responsibilities to the coven, to be gone for days or weeks would be normal, but months. Viktor had a suspicious nature. After discovering his daughter's affair with Lucian and the rebellion of the Lycans, he probably feared another betrayal.
