Revealing mistake: As Moe and Cranston chase Khan through the city streets, the view through the rear window of Moe's cab shows the cab doing a sharp turn even though it is driving straight.
Factual error: While hanging from the top of the Empire State Building, the sailor looks straight down the side of the building, which is shown to be flat. This is wrong. From the observation deck, there is another level that sticks out below, where the lights that shine upwards are stored.
Factual error: The guns Lamont Cranston uses in his "The Shadow" persona are Lar Grizzly MK1 Longslide. The movie is set in the 1930s and the pistols weren't developed before the early 80s.
Continuity mistake: When the the old Asian guy is about to draw a picture of an atomic bomb on his blackboard, he clears a small section at the top of the board, and you can see some diagrams uncleared in the centre of the board. Yet when the camera shows his picture, the diagrams in the centre have now magically disappeared.
Visible crew/equipment: When Khan sees the bomb for the first time (after roughing up Farley Claymore), he goes into the usual bad guy speech, and in the reflection of the bomb counter glass, you can see a boom mic moving.
Continuity mistake: When Claymore is trying to stall Margo in the hallway, he rests his left arm on the wall, but his arm changes position as the scene cuts.
Continuity mistake: After Wainwright lowers his martini glass to the table, it is suddenly up to his mouth in the next quick shot.
Other mistake: While Cranston and Shrevnitz discuss Margo Lane, the view through the cab's windshield shows the vehicle heading for a building, but the next shot of Shrevnitz driving shows him making no attempt to turn the cab's steering wheel to avoid the building.
Continuity mistake: When the two goons are ready to shove Dr. Tam over the bridge railing, he is grasping their arms, but the next shot of the trio to the bridge shows Tam's arms hanging down with open hands.
Continuity mistake: When Mr. Shrevnitz puts the ring on Dr. Tam's finger, his left hand holds Tam's hand, but the closeup shot shows Shrevnitz putting the ring on with only his right hand.
Continuity mistake: Before Cranston gives his guards the order to shoot through Wu, the book Wu holds against his chest instantly moves up and down and back as the scene cuts.
Continuity mistake: After Li Peng takes Wu hostage and holds the knife blade to Wu's throat, Li's left hand changes position on the blade as the scene instant cuts.
Continuity mistake: In Khan's lair, when the Shadow is struggling to stop the Phurba from attacking him, the Shadow is dragged across the floor by the Phurba while holding it in his right hand. In the next shot, he is now seen holding the Phurba with both hands.
Factual error: In the water tank sequence, Lamont takes a breath through one of the bullet holes. At more than five feet below the surface of water, the human diaphragm cannot push against the water pressure surrounding the chest, making it impossible to take a breath normally. Lamont should not have been able to draw breath at that depth.
Continuity mistake: After Nelson tells Khan the museum is closed, Nelson's left hand suddenly appears, holding his revolver.
Continuity mistake: When The Shadow is wrestling with Purba (The Knife) Cranston's lip is bleeding. When the struggle continues, his lip is clean, then goes back to how it was before. (01:32:00 - 01:32:49)
Continuity mistake: When the guard first raises his gun to cover Khan, it's in his right hand only. From in front, his left hand is suddenly up.
Continuity mistake: When Moe says, "Get it?" to Dr. Tam, Moe's index finger taps his right temple, but when the scene cuts to the frontal shot of Moe, his finger is now tapping his hat.
Continuity mistake: When Khan tosses the Tommy gun to Claymore, it is right-side up, but the closeup shot shows Claymore holding it upside down, then the next shot right-side up again.
Revealing mistake: After Shiwan Khan's goon falls to his death and Moe is looking at the dead body, it is elevated up to the mid-section of Moe's body, indicating the the body was on a table or platform to get a better camera angle of Peter Boyle (Moe) observing the dead body. The shot could not have been accomplished if the body was at ground level.
Suggested correction: Nelson pulls out his revolver as soon as Khan's coffin opens up.
Nelson did have his revolver pulled when the casket opened, but the mistake listed was the quick appearance of his left-hand supporting the revolver in his right hand, a true continuity mistake.
