Continuity mistake: After her dad visited her bringing her the essential dose of squashes, Sidney is sleeping on the couch. To get to her, the camera pans across a side table where there's a headset in front of a photo of Sid and her mom. Close-up on the photo, and the headset changed position as you can see from the colorful book it is resting on. (00:20:40 - 00:22:00)
Character mistake: When Jenny McCarthy goes to the office to meet the director. She's calling out his name to see if he's there & calls " Roman.......Ronin.......Roman". (00:23:15)
Continuity mistake: When Sarah tries to fix Roman's statue's head, her hair is over her face, when she goes to answer the phone her hair is pulled back behind her ear. (00:23:20)
Continuity mistake: Sarah is trying to fix Roman's statue with some tape. She does it holding the statue the exact opposite way in the two camera angles. (00:24:35)
Revealing mistake: When Sarah (the one who's supposed to play 'Candy') is stabbed, her blood is dried when she slumps over the door. (00:27:10)
Continuity mistake: When at the diner's Gale answers "Well, I have written the definitive book about the Woodsboro murders", her arms are open; her hands were joined earlier. (00:28:30)
Continuity mistake: In the scene where Dewey and Gale are having lunch, Dewey asks her "Why would the police come to you?" In the background, a waitress in white walks by. Then they switch to Gale and the waitress has vanished. (00:28:30)
Continuity mistake: The first time Gale goes to Jennifer's house, if you look when Dewy gets out of his car the window is down. Look quickly to see when Dewy closes the door the window is up. (00:30:40)
Suggested correction: I really can't see it. He gets out of the car and closes the (car) door in the same shot so it's not that. He gets out of the car (the window is indeed down) and then goes to the front door, but he does not close that door, and from there you can't see the driver side window anyway. Am I missing something?
Continuity mistake: Look at the shirt David Arquette is wearing when he's out at lunch with Gale, heading then to Jennifer's house for the first time. They learn about Sarah's murder and head to the crime scene, and Arquette is wearing a different shirt he'll wear for the party later. Admitted by Wes Craven himself in the DVD commentary track. (00:33:40)
Continuity mistake: After the scene with Posh Spice's former bodyguard giving 'Dewdrop' a piece of his mind, we see the detectives at work. The hands in close-up hold one of the photos by the bottom, but in the wider angle detective Wallace is holding them by the sides. (00:33:45)
Continuity mistake: When the cops go talk with Roman to ask him about his meeting with Sarah Darling, you can notice that Jennifer's bodyguard grew longer sideburns in the space of minutes since the scene at the house. Noticed by producer Marianne Maddalena on the DVD commentary track, and apparently they had some talks on set about that. (00:35:00)
Continuity mistake: Confronted by the cops, the director says "I did not call Sarah Darling." In the background, look at the dark-haired extra that joins the other two by some stage equipment. A couple of cuts later she's just walking by them. (00:35:10)
Continuity mistake: The second time Gale shows up at Jennifer's driveway (right before the place blows up), one can clearly hear her turn off the lights and remove the keys from her car. Yet, when she opens the door, the car still makes that beeping noise that happens when you leave your headlights on or leave your ignition key in the ignition. (00:37:10)
Other mistake: Gale arrives at Jennifer's house for the party, rings the doorbell, but inexplicably, nobody answers. Noticed by Wes Craven in the DVD commentary; they said they "got away with it" by not adding the sound effect of the doorbell ringing in post so most people would Miss the gesture. (00:39:00)
Audio problem: To dispel Jennifer's suspicions that he's still in love with Gale, Dewey adds that Gale is cruel, etc. David Arquette's lips are not moving, though. Noticed also by the crew on the DVD commentary track. (00:39:40)
Continuity mistake: When the bodyguard finds Gale eavesdropping on Dewey and Jennifer, they soon confront each other and Tom is sitting in a chair with his left hand on the arm rest. In the next shot Tom is smoking a half finished cigarette with his left hand, but he had no time to change the hand with the cigarette in it between shots. (00:40:00)
Character mistake: Stone catches Gale snooping around and Dewey takes her aside to the kitchen to have a chat. She updates him about the latest news in the investigation, "Sarah's call didn't come from his cell phone." However Courteney Cox mangles the name and calls her "Sterra." Noticed by Wes Craven in the DVD commentary track; he even identifies the scene with "Oh, this is the scene when she calls Sarah 'Sterra' "and the editor references the similar "Roman=Ronan" mistake that happened earlier. (00:40:20)
Continuity mistake: Steven Stone picks a few coins from Dewey's counter. You can see that there are 5 left in the wide shot, but only 4 in close-up. (00:42:10)
Continuity mistake: Jennifer's house, the door just opened on its own. For some reason, Angelina and Tom don't shout back at Dewey and ask what's up, but rather jumpscare him. With Dewey's gun pointed at him, Tom has both hands in the air. In the same shot he lowers the right hand, but in the next he's with both hands up again. (00:43:20)
Continuity mistake: Stone falls face down in front of the entrance, his arms raised forming (very roughly) right angles. When Dewey screams to the others to get inside, Stone's left-hand touches his head. (00:43:45)
