Romeo + Juliet

Continuity mistake: When Romeo and Juliet are lying in the bed, you see from one angle that Romeo has a little bit of a sheet lying on him. Then you see him taking the sheet off from Juliet's eye angle, but from that angle there is a lot more sheet on him than before.

Continuity mistake: When you first see the Capulet mansion, Juliet's mother is calling her. When she sees the nurse, the nurse's hairnet is at her hairline. When she goes to find Juliet it is at her eyebrows and it goes back to it's original place when Juliet is found.

Continuity mistake: When Romeo and his friend drive to the church where Juliet lies. You see that their car is very dirty. But when they arrive at the church the car is all clean. It seems a little strange to clean the car, when they have to hurry, and he was wanted by the police.

Continuity mistake: When Tybalt and Romeo fight (just after Mercutio's death) watch Romeo's shirt closely. It is at first dirty and covered in blood then when Romeo is looking up to the sky after shooting Tybalt the shirt looks cleaner with only a few blood stains on it. Also watch the wounds on Romeo's face, the amount of blood on them changes too.

Continuity mistake: When Romeo is writing in his trailer, his necklace chain has both a cross and his wedding ring on it. When he's about to kill himself, he rips off the chain and puts the ring on Juliet's finger. However, the cross is gone.

Factual error: A cigarette cannot ignite petroleum fumes as it does not burn hot enough. This is a common mistake found in a lot of movies.

Continuity mistake: At the end of the film Juliet/Claire Danes lifts the revolver to her left temple, in her left hand. After firing the shot and landing, her arm has already fallen before she has.....she lands in an odd position assuming the angle the gun was pointed at, and the original position of her arm.

Romeo: Why then, O brawling love, O loving hate, O anything, of nothing first create! O heavy lightness, serious vanity, Misshapen chaos of well-seeming forms, Feather of lead, bright smoke, cold fire, sick health, Still-waking sleep, that is not what it is!

Trivia: In the fight at the petrol station they are using guns instead of swords (which were used in Shakespearian times), however, when it's said "draw your swords", the dialogue didn't have to be changed for this part, because the film directors made it so that the make of the gun was "sword". Also, when Capulet says "Hand me my Longsword", he reaches for a rifle, most likely from the same factory that made the Sword pistols.

Question: I first saw this film on TV in Britain a few years ago and the song "Exit Music for a Film" by Radiohead played over the end credits. Everytime I have viewed it on television since then, another song from the soundtrack is played at the same point in the movie. Could the change possibly be because its become an expensive song to use as they have become a more high-profile group?

Answer: Whatever songs are in the movie were licensed for distribution by the film production company for a fixed price. It is impossible for there to be later fees somehow incurred on the production company just because the group is more popular. However, it's conceivable that Radiohead only allowed their song for use in cinemas but not television.
