Continuity mistake: When Joan is looking for paper tissue to wipe off the tears she sheds over her own book she finally blows her nose with a note stuck to the mirror, saying "Don't forget - buy tissue". The note was stuck on the left side of the mirror, but when she grabs it in close-up it's stuck in the middle. (00:04:45)
Continuity mistake: When Elaine gets knocked out with the ball her hat falls to the ground, next to her car. When the boy drives off the hat is gone. (00:12:55)
Continuity mistake: When Elaine is kidnapped she gets knocked out with a ball tied to a rope. Before the young kidnapper throws the ball he swings it around his head first anti-clockwise, then, in the next shot, clockwise. (00:12:55)
Visible crew/equipment: In every shot where "the kid" is driving the red sports car, you can see that there is nobody in the car with him - Elaine should be in the passenger seat. Even slumped over unconscious, she'd be visible. (00:13:25)
Continuity mistake: When Joan and her editor wait for a cab to take her to the airport it is snowing in some camera angles, in others not. Her jacket is either dry or wet correspondingly. (00:17:50)
Continuity mistake: When Joan leaves for the airport by taxi she's being watched by Zolo who is sitting in his car. Depending on the camera angle, his windshield wipers are either in normal or in interval mode. (00:18:15)
Continuity mistake: After Joan arrives at Cartagena, Ralph exits his car and asks a guy if the plane has landed. In the first shot there's a huge crowd surrounding him, a frame later the place is empty. (00:19:20)
Revealing mistake: When Joan is about to get in the bus at the airport, there's a man in a red shirt walking from right to left who can't help staring at the camera and grinning all the time. (00:19:25)
Continuity mistake: When Zolo stops Ralph's car he shows him a police ID. The way he holds up the ID differs completely, depending on the camera angle. (00:26:10)

Continuity mistake: Right after the bus crash and shootout at the beginning of the movie, it starts to pour with rain and Jack and Joan are walking along the dirt road. The road gives way and Jack and Joan fall down a slope. They end up in a muddy pool and as Jack comes up for air (between Joan's thighs), you can see his wet hair is plastered forward over his ears in one shot and in the next shot it has been pushed neatly back behind his ears - this sequence is repeated a couple of times. Continuity mistake: When Joan tries to cross the gorge on the decrepit bridge the distance of planks on this bridge differs largely, depending on the camera angle. (00:37:55)
Revealing mistake: When Michael Douglas attempts to swing on a vine over a deep abyss, the rock that he runs into on the other side moves like a marshmallow, indicating that it's a fake rock. (00:39:10)
Revealing mistake: It's quite visible that the vine Jack uses to cross the gorge is a rope. (00:39:25)
Continuity mistake: When Joan sits and has a drink after crossing the gorge her hair is a total mess. Next, when they push off into the jungle it's neatly combed and tied to a ponytail. (00:40:25)
Continuity mistake: When Jack studies the map in the plane wreck it's open in wide shots and folded in close-ups. (00:51:50)
Continuity mistake: As Jack presents Joan with the necklace when they are seated at dinner during the festival scene, the one he is holding in his hand is a beaded necklace, to attract more light for the further camera shot, only when the close up of the table occurs it is a completely different necklace. (01:06:55)
Suggested correction: Jack actually hands her a lot of necklaces not just one, Joan picks out only the one with the heart and puts it on. Of course we know why she chooses that one, but if you look when they get up to dance you can see the other necklaces in a pile on the table, pearls included with the other gold necklaces. I always wondered why he just didn't buy her the one, why did he buy her the bunch then just leave them on the table? (Yes I'm sure they got them when they were done dancing).
Continuity mistake: When Jack is digging for the stone his front hair is dangling loosely, but in all frontal shots when he looks at Joan it's stuck to his forehead. (01:15:15)
Revealing mistake: When Jack drives through the field to reach the cave, tyre tracks are already in the grass, showing it was not the first time the scene was shot. (01:15:40)
Other mistake: When Ralph's Renault R4 goes head on into the shallow and rocky river it emerges without a dent. (01:18:45)
