Pulp Fiction

Continuity mistake: When Vince and Jules need to take off all their clothes in order to get clean, Jules takes his pants off twice. The first time he takes it off, he is saying, "Damn. This morning air is some chilly s***," and the next time, he takes off his shirt, then proceeds to start undoing his belt.

Continuity mistake: After busting out from the restaurant's kitchen with four cooks, Ringo waves his gun towards the exit as Yolanda shouts, "Grandpa." But when the shot changes he's facing a different direction, threatening one of the cooks in a booth instead. (02:18:20)

Continuity mistake: While scoping out his apartment, Butch walks into the kitchen for toaster pastries. In between shots, his right hand shifts from holding the cabinet door open to grabbing pastries, then back to holding the door again. (01:30:45)

Deliberate mistake: When Butch is riding in the taxi and smoking, the cigarette smoke is lazily drifting out of the window of the vehicle. If they were traveling at any real speed (i.e. not on a set with a movie screen behind it) their smoke would be ripped out of the taxi by the wind. Also, when he tosses out some of his stuff you can hear it hit the wooden floor of the stage. (01:12:28)

Visible crew/equipment: When Jules is talking to Marcellus and describing what would happen if Jimmy's wife came home and found them all with a dead body, we see what would possibly happen in a scene where the camera follows the wife to where they are carrying the dead body. You can sometimes see the camera shadow on the walls when the camera follows her. (01:55:45)

Continuity mistake: When Butch has just exited the store where he and Marsellus were being held, the "chopper" keys move from his left to right hand in the cuts. (01:44:53)

Continuity mistake: At Jackrabbit Slim's when Vincent grabs the menu, he grabs it on the top right corner. When it cuts he holds it in the lower right corner instead. (00:35:20)

Mortug

Continuity mistake: When we see Butch's arms taking the sword down from above the door in the store, the handle of the sword is on the right. But in the next shot, we see that the handle is on the left side.

Visible crew/equipment: When the restaurant cooks clear out from the kitchen per Ringo's orders, set lights are visible on the dessert showcase door reflection for a moment. (02:18:15)

Revealing mistake: When The Wolf sprays down Jules and Vincent with the hose, they are supposed to be naked. When Jules hands Jimmie his clothes, you can see Jules is wearing tan colored underwear at the very very bottom of the screen. You can only see a little bit of it, and it is a very quick shot.

Continuity mistake: At Jackrabbit Slim's, when Mia gets her milkshake, she plays with her straw. Between shots she goes from holding the straw with her right hand to her left hand. (00:38:45)

Hamster

Continuity mistake: When Winston Wolfe and Raquel are getting in his car to leave Monster Joe's, there is a flatbed truck and a sedan parked behind a yellow beetle across the street. In the next shot as they are speeding off, the flatbed and sedan have somehow changed into a pickup truck and a van. (02:07:30)

Visible crew/equipment: Towards the end of the "Divine Intervention" scene, the shadow of a boom mic can be seen above Jules' head in the top left corner of the screen when he says "Wrong! Wrong, this shit doesn't just happen".

THGhost

Continuity mistake: When Jules and Vincent are about to get hosed down, Jimmy's right arm is holding a pink towel on the right and a blue towel on the left. Jimmy hands Jules a soap bar with his left hand, but when the camera changes point of view, Jimmy's right arm is now handing off the soap and the towels seem to have vanished. In the next shot of Jimmy, the towels have reappeared on his arm but in opposite positions from where they were previously. (02:04:35)

Revealing mistake: When Jules and Vincent, after having killed Brett, shoot the fourth man who was hiding in the bathroom, fake blood packs can be briefly seen under his shirt in the points where the bullets will hit just before he's shot.

Other mistake: When the pawn shop owner asks Zed if it is Tuesday Zed says it's Thursday, however the fight poster in Butcher post fight scene shows the date as Thursday July 16. This would make it Friday for the next morning's pawn shop action.

Continuity mistake: When Winston begins talking about Monster Joe's Truck and Tow, Jules stops fixing his hair and then places both hands at his side. But all of a sudden he's seen fixing his hair again between shots. (02:11:00)

Deliberate mistake: Jules' famous Ezekiel quote is actually an expansion of what is in the Bible. Ezekiel 25-17 actually reads: "And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them." (00:20:10 - 00:22:25)

Suggested correction: Any wrong-spelled quotes that been said by any character can't even be remotely considered as a movie mistake, character can basically say anything he wants and mistake in any quotes by will as any living person can do.

This mistake is referring to the beginning of the quote, the "path of the righteous man" part. Those few sentences are nowhere in the bible. Jules begins his quote by stating Ezekiel 25:17, but the only part of what he says that's in that verse is the "great vengeance and furious anger" part. Everything else Jules said was added by Quentin Tarantino, which would make it technically a misquote, and thus a Deliberate Mistake.

Continuity mistake: When Mia is on the toilet at the restaurant she wears dark red lipstick, but when she comes back to the table she doesn't wear lipstick at all. (00:33:35)

Jules Winnfield: Ezekiel 25:17. 'The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyrannies of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness. For he is truly his brothers' keeper and finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.' Now I've been saying that shit for years, and if you've ever heard it, it meant your ass. I never gave much thought to what it meant, I just thought it was a cold blooded thing to say to a mother fucker before I popped a cap in his ass. But I saw some shit this morning that made me think twice. Now I'm thinking it could mean you're the evil man, and I'm the righteous man. And Mr. 9mm here is the shepherd, protecting my righteous ass. Or maybe it means that you're the righteous man, and I'm the shepherd, and it's the world that's evil and selfish. Now I'd like that, but you see that shit ain't the truth. The truth is, YOU'RE the weak, and I'm the tyranny of evil men. But I'm trying, Ringo. I'm trying real hard to be the shepherd.

After he shoots Brett, a guy comes out of the bathroom with a "hand cannon" and tries to shoot him. Finally, he emerges from the bathroom at Butch Coolidge's flat and is shot dead.

Question: What exactly does the title of this film mean? Is there even an answer to that?

Sir William

Chosen answer: It is a reference to a class of fast-paced, sensationalistic, and frequently exploitive stories published in cheap magazines from the 1920's through the 1950's. They were called 'pulp' because of the cheap quality of the paper they were printed on, as opposed to the 'slicks' which were more like full-color magazines of today.
