Trivia: SPOILER: Nicolas Cage has a cameo in this film as an alternate version of Superman fighting a giant spider. This is a nod to the cancelled film "Superman Lives", which would have starred Cage and been directed by Tim Burton. The giant spider was part of the script at the insistence of producer Jon Peters, who finally got to make use of the idea in Wild Wild West.
Trivia: Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in the 1989 animated movie "The Little Mermaid", appears in the live-action film as a marketplace vendor who offers Ariel a plate of food and a fork. In a reference to the original film, Ariel uses the fork to comb her hair.
Trivia: This film was originally supposed to be released before the Disney+ companion series Secret Invasion. This explains why Nick Fury is more upbeat in this film when contrasted to his character journey from the aforementioned series.
Trivia: Nicolas Cage is well-known for turning down roles if he doesn't play the lead character. However, he agreed to do this film as he's always wanted to play Count Dracula, even though Nicholas Hoult is the lead character.
Trivia: During the course of the highly publicized Depp v. Heard trial, Amber Heard claimed her role in this film was drastically reduced because of her allegations of domestic abuse against her ex-husband, Johnny Depp. The producers of the film have disputed her claim.
