Continuity mistake: Early in the film when Jake gets in his car to head off to pick up his son, his seatbelt is on although there is no sight of him putting it on, then, as he pulls away the seatbelt is off.
Continuity mistake: The color of Lance's clothes change from a dark tan, brown, or grayish color on the train to blue walking through the train station and riding to Jack's place. Continuity mistake: At the "Wave Hair Salon", Ms. Gordon has a curler/roller at the top of her forehead. In some shots, it is straight, but in other shots it is angled. Continuity mistake: After the announcement from her boss that she is scheduled to 'marry' her quasi-fake BF, Ana goes to the gym to meet her friend. When they are talking, she says "it's been forever, it's already kind of worn out." Ana's ponytail is in front of her shoulder, and goes back behind her back in the next shot. (00:10:00)
Continuity mistake: The appearance of Grace's house by the front door (to the left of the screen) changes from the time Billy is standing along the road to when he meets his mother half-way. At first, the side of the house is mostly white; it is mostly brown thereafter. The garage area to Billy's left also changes color from brown to white. (00:05:22)
Continuity mistake: Towards the beginning of the flashback, Jahkor gets thrown to the ground. The legs of the bully in the close-up cast a shadow over Jahkor's body. Cut to the next shot, and the shadow is away from Jahkor in a blatant change of direction of the light of the scene. (00:09:35)
Continuity mistake: The view of the restaurant and other businesses along the same street are quite different when Pedro exits the restaurant compared to a little earlier when Emma brought Oak the guitar. Store fronts are not the same, the position of a garbage can changes, the restaurant has some outdoor tables and umbrellas, and there are brick borders around the trees and garbage cans. Continuity mistake: On the train, Margaret's hair had a distinct uneven, broken part (the middle section running parallel to the first and third lines), but her part was linear when she got to work. Continuity mistake: Tommy had a cup of coffee in front of him when he met Jaylene at the outside table. After Jaylene showed Tommy the picture of him and Sandy, the coffee cup was to the right of the ashtray and closer to Jaylene (as though it was hers).
