Other mistake: Just after signing the contract, you briefly see Stan in his hotel room. The smoke from his cigarette is moving downwards.
Continuity mistake: After Elizabeth drives her motorbike off the peer, across the frozen lake and stops while she looks back at the police, the Ducati suddenly has different tires than earlier in the escape sequence. (00:25:55 - 00:27:05)
Plot hole: Kingsley holds the only key card that can access the control room where the Captain is. He only has one card. He gives this key card to Rhodes so he can go up there and talk the Captain into not taking the sub to the surface yet, while Kingsley and his men head down to stop Scott and Taylor. When they employ the help of Marco and take out Kingsley and his men, Marco bends down and pulls the key card off Kingsley's neck so that now they have it... only Kingsley didn't have the key any more, as Rhodes had it and was still in the control room. A second key card magically materialized on Kingsley's neck.
Suggested correction: Kingsley only took the keycard from his neck to open the door and then hold it in his hand, so I guess he actually didn't give it to Rhodes. Just opened the doors.
Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the teacher asks "Has Nicky's mom volunteered?" The guy answers "Emily?" with his arms down his hips, but he had his arms folded across the chest just in the previous shot. (00:03:50)
Continuity mistake: When she is painting the wall and stops to go and hug him, in different shots during the hug the amount of white she has painted lessens, and has a different pattern. (00:07:45)
Other mistake: When the detective sends the traffic cam footage, a Gmail alert pops up. However, the dad is currently using Margot's computer, not his. He previously logged into Margot's gmail account on this computer so any alerts received would be Margot's mail, not his.
Continuity mistake: When Buster is shot, his hat with the hole in it disappears.
Factual error: On two occasions a ring neck dove lands on the sailboat. The sailboat is making way to Hawaii. Ring neck doves are indigenous to Africa, not Hawaii. They are also not an introduced or invasive species in Hawaii.
Factual error: Jonah Hill references "Chucky" from the movie Childs Play. This movie's period is set somewhere in the late 1970's. The movie Childs Play didn't come out until 1988.
Continuity mistake: Juliet is on the bed with little girl Kit. The child has a ribbon is her hair then looks up at Juliet and it becomes a slide. Next cut it is a ribbon, then a slide. Then the girl sleeps on Juliet with just a ribbon visible. (01:19:00 - 01:20:00)
Continuity mistake: When RBG leaves for court (about 30 minutes from the end the movie) her brooch is on the right lapel of her black suit and when she gets out of the cab, it is on her left.
Other mistake: The red rescue helicopter which is approaching and crashing is a Jet Ranger while the model filmed later on the crash site is a MBB BO 105. Most obvious are the differences in the landing skids and the front nose of the cabin. I guess the Prop used for the ground filming was an actual abandoned helicopter. The approaching and crashing helicopter is most likely CGI, so it should have been easy to have them matched. (00:15:00 - 00:21:00)
Continuity mistake: The dog poop on the ground moves when the father first pulls his car into the garage.
Continuity mistake: As Steve and Mike are leaving in the police car, Mike turns and puts his arm back as he looks back to start driving in reverse as Steve waves to his wife. It cuts to an angle from behind his wife as Steve puts his arm down, but then Mike turns and looks back again a second time in this shot to start backing up. (00:20:35)
Factual error: The shop owner shows him a tape of the Joshua Tree by U2 and says it is the best concert he has seen, but the Joshua Tree wasn't released until 1987.
Character mistake: Dumplin' is looking through her aunt's belongings, and finds an old application form for the Miss Teen Bluebonnet pageant. The application has an August 1993 signature but marks Lucy's DOB as 5/5/79 with a stated age of 16: it does not add up, as she'd have been 14 instead. Granted, it's an application she never actually turned in and not an official document, but this does not justify the mistake in the context of the movie (not to mention that had she just been too young to participate, the point of the movie would be moot).
Continuity mistake: When Roberta comes over to give Mark the doll he left at the shop, we see an animated sequence just before this. The character in the animated sequence gets her top ripped open. In the real life version, the doll has more of its shirt ripped open.
Factual error: The movie is set in Van Diemen's Land (now Tasmania) in 1825. Throughout the movie, in scenes where Clare talks to the aboriginal tracker, Billy, subtitles state that they are speaking in Palawa Kani. Palawa kani was developed in the 1990s by the language program of the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre, more than 165 years after the movie.
Revealing mistake: The paddle steamer on which Wilde crosses the Channel has her name "Waverley" visible on the bow. The Waverley, the world's last seagoing paddle steamer, was launched in 1946, 46 years after Wilde's death. Replacing the name with the name of a real paddle steamer of the era would probably have been a good idea.
Deliberate mistake: An LAPD cop discharges his firearm a full size Glock which has a minimum magazine capacity of 13+1 for the Glock 21. The Glock 21 is approved LAPD issue along with other variants. He fires maybe three shots and the slide locks back signalling that it's dry. A second later the same cop is walking with the same empty Glock aimed towards the suspect which was shot at. It's visible that the slide is being held back by the slide stop since the magazine went dry. (01:29:58)
