Trivia: Lars requested (demanded) a "Mustang [Boss] 302" from the police to flee the bank robbery. Lars did not specify what year, but 1969-1972 and, possibly, 1973 are relevant to the August 23, 1973 real-life incident. The Mustang 302 was blue and it might seem easy to identify its shade, but that's not the case. Historically, there have been almost 900 colors for the Mustang's paint and there are a variety of blues. "Grabber Blue" was popular when the Mustang 302 emerged, as was "Acapulco Blue."
Trivia: Stan tells Ollie he's never getting married again, he will just find a woman he doesn't like and buy her a house. Stan would marry three more times and divorce twice between 1937 and1953, including remarrying and re divorcing one of his ex wives.
Trivia: Christian Bale nearly played George W. Bush in the Oliver Stone-directed film W, but left the project because he didn't like the prosthetics he had to wear.

Trivia: Will Friedle of Boy Meets World fame wrote a script similar to this film and sold it to Disney around 1997. They opted not to make the film. By the time this film was made, there were so many story revisions that Friedle could not get a story credit. A representative from the Writer's Guild of America even tried to intervene on his behalf, but Disney's rep claimed his script was completely different.
