Continuity mistake: When Lady Susan is counseling her daughter Frederica in her bedroom, the shot shows an unlit candle on a dresser behind Lady Susan. The shot changes back and forth between Frederica and Lady Susan. When the shot changes back to Lady Susan, the unlit candle is gone, though there is no one else in the room.
Continuity mistake: Carolyn puts on her pink dress and asks Tallulah to zip her up. Tammy Blanchard puts her hair up in a bunch, but there's a large bang to the left side of her face that stays down. In the reverse shot though, she got all her hair up. (00:18:20)
Continuity mistake: Maudie lights herself a cigarette. There are 2 matchboxes on the railing of the porch. They disappear for the rest of the scene and Maudie's cardigan and dress do not have pockets. (00:02:35)
Continuity mistake: Mother and son run towards the store window as the Ford Galaxy is burning in the parking lot. At the end of the shot from behind, a woman with a lilac top and long brown hair comes into frame and leans against the vegetable stand. After the cut, with Jamie and the mom by the window, the same woman walks in again. (00:01:30)
Continuity mistake: At the oriental restaurant, Nick is telling a story about a Costarican adventure. The chopsticks on his tray change position in every shot. (00:46:00)
Continuity mistake: After their fight with the monkey Sara has some scratches on her forehead and cheekbone but when she gets to the castle with Freya they are gone.
Factual error: When Anita Hill is in her hotel room waiting to testify she is watching the Texas v. OU football game. In the movie the date for that scene is Friday, October 11, 1991. The Texas v. OU football game was played on Saturday, October 12, 1991.
Factual error: One of the phone crazies runs into an identifiable Ponderosa Pine tree. There are no Ponderosa Pine trees within a thousand miles of Boston.
Factual error: In the Templehoff Airport flyover scene there are Soviet era Antonov An-12 propeller driven aircraft on the tarmac. These were first used by the Soviets in 1953.
Other mistake: When Bill is alone with the girl at his house, there is a roaring fire, but in the next scene the fire is completely out and he comments, "you must be cold, I didn't have time to start a fire".
Continuity mistake: The main character is chatting with Harper at the shooting range. Harper's earbuds and protective goggles change position between shots throughout the scene. (00:08:50)
Continuity mistake: The gang Bo is reluctantly part of gets to Maurice's crib where he is playing cards with his homies. The red jacketed one is defiant, and grabs a handful of red and blue chips in front of him tossing them in Angelo's face. But if you check out of the table in the wide shots before this occurs, you'll notice that red chips were never in the stack in front of him to begin with. (00:19:05)
Continuity mistake: John Biswas is tailing the little deaf girl. His scooter breaks down and he follows her on foot. They are walking in the same road in two different shots, with a cut just a few meters apart. The toys in her right hand and the paper in her left swap hands in the second shot. (00:18:20)
Revealing mistake: Set in Pittsburgh, PA, scenes were obviously filmed out of sequence. Many scenes were "out of sync" with the snowfall, whether in progress or amount (if any) already accumulated. For example, there was no snow downtown, but views from the helicopter showed snow-cover around the nearby parkway (Route 376). In another scene, it was snowing when Ryan turned his Jeep into a downtown road that was covered with at least one inch of snow; switching to a "live" newscast, the sun was shining outside.
Factual error: During the scene when Ed the I.T. guy is working on his laptop to fix the problem with the presentation, his laptop is sitting on top of a couple of Cisco network switches with cables connected to them. The ports on the front of the switch where the cables are plugged in would have flashing lights on to show power and connectivity, as well as lights on the left-hand side of the device as we are looking at it, no lights are present which suggests it is not powered up and connected to anything. Continuity mistake: Maureen spent the first night in the spooky house, without conclusive results. They are meeting the prospect buyers in a bar. When Lara walks up to them and begins the conversation, the arm position of the man changes wildly between shots several times at every cut. (00:08:40)
Revealing mistake: Right after the little girl sprays the monster with bug spray, you can see the costume of the monster, it's wearing a black cap. (01:19:00)
Continuity mistake: When Kurt and Kavi are washing clothes, the clothes change position on the line, specifically the red shirt at the end and the shorts Kavi hangs up. The red shirt is twisted around the line, but in the shot of Kavi hanging the shorts, the shirt is hanging perfectly straight down.
