Continuity mistake: When they steal the truck at the mall they have to hot wire it to make it start. Later at the San Andreas fault scene where the road ends, in the same truck, he turns the truck off with the key.
Continuity mistake: There are missing boys in the movie. At the end of The Maze Runner, there are 8 boys that get out of the maze besides Teresa. At the beginning of Scorch Trials, only 7 get in the compound. When Thomas shows the stolen card to the others, there are 6 of them and they all escape with Teresa and Aris. When they get out the mall and enter the city, there are 5 of them besides Aris and Teresa. The last boy (called 'Jack' by cast and crew) dies in a deleted scene, the other two boys simply vanish without a trace or explanation.
Continuity mistake: After reviving Ethan after escaping from the water tank, IIsa's bra strap is visible under her tank top. When she changes later, the bra disappears. (01:10:00)
Continuity mistake: In the final chase, we see Max taking the arrow out of his hand and Furiosa pulling the knife out of herself. A few shots later, Furiosa is changing gears and moving the rig to the left of Max's rig. In that shot, the knife is still lodged in her body. (01:39:40)
Continuity mistake: After Letty saves Brian he is lying on the ground, and his unzipped sweatshirt changes from being open and completely off his chest in the overhead shot, to partially covering his chest in the side shot, and then back to off his chest. (00:58:30)
Continuity mistake: In the plane chase scene, when the plane hits the car, one of the wheels comes off. In the next view, all the landing gear is intact.
Continuity mistake: When Stuart is leaving the building, he enters a previous generation Mercedes Benz S Class. The next couple of shots where he is being followed by Bryan shows the newly redesigned S Class.
Continuity mistake: When the CIA official is briefing Powers and the other pilots in a hotel room, he sits on a chair in one shot. In the next shot, he jumps a few feet closer to the pilots. (00:23:00)
Continuity mistake: The airplane shown in the movie, during the airport scene is an Airbus A319, registration OE-LUX. However when the copilot hits the throttles with his head and the plane starts to accelerate the plane becomes a Boeing 737 with the same livery and registration but with Blue Air written on the engines and another registration, (YR) -BAE on the front landing gear bay. Continuity mistake: When the team is crossing the crevasse on the ladder bridge at the ice fall. For safety, the climbers are tethered from their harnesses to the rope handrails with another short length of rope attached to a carabiner clip on each side. As Josh Brolin is crossing, you can see his tether, which he pushes along in front of his hands as he progresses. However, when the camera cuts to a reverse close-up from below, the tether has suddenly disappeared. When the shot cuts wide again, the safety tether has returned. (00:28:15)
Continuity mistake: When Albright's driver is taking Mark at gunpoint to the car (after leaving Mrs. Jensen's room) he has his gun against Mark's chest, but in the next shot it's against his back.
Continuity mistake: At the end, the TV newscaster reports that 150,000 reserve human forces have been activated. But the crawl strip at the bottom of the screen reads "150,000 RESERVED human forces," a different meaning altogether. (01:59:00)
Continuity mistake: When Gordo leaves Simon and Robyn for a few minutes to handle a work thing, Simon starts mocking Gordo in his absence. Simon tells Robyn that Gordo wants to nail her and Robyn says "Stop it," but Simon continues his mocking of Gordo. At the end when Simon is listening to the recording that Gordo made of that conversation, Robyn's "Stop it" is absent.
Continuity mistake: Once Kevin has been bullied in front of the hot cashier by the nasty ginger and his goons, Noah gives them the stinkeye in a closeup in obvious bad continuity with the previous shot, facing away as he is. (00:08:35)
Continuity mistake: At the end of the movie, Olivia thanks Jake for saving her life. Her locket is sometimes half hidden by her T-shirt, and sometimes entirely visible. (01:22:00 - 01:23:00)
Continuity mistake: Nicolas Cage is chatting with his friend at work. When she tells him "Mike, listen to what you're saying", his cup turned around on its own, with the paper sleeve showing the brand to the camera. Continuity mistake: At the very start of the movie as the 2 guys walk down the alley way, the one in the black jacket lifts his arm up as he passes the rubbish bin. In the next shot from the front both his arms are in his pockets and the rubbish bins completely disappear. (01:00:00 - 01:01:00)
