Continuity mistake: The handful of yams (pureed) that Glory throws onto the left side of her bowl is spread out, relatively flat, and spans close to the bowl's rim. Suddenly, the yams are piled higher and further away from the bowl. The yams on both sides appear to vary, but other views are too short to be confirmed (without pausing). (00:48:11)
Continuity mistake: Starting their investigation by the pool, Maggie remarks about the difficulties of finding a body in the woods at night. Brooke Burns' hair is clear off her shoulders all of a sudden, while it's in front of them in most of the rest of the scene. (00:24:25)
Continuity mistake: SPOILER: The boy, Roger, finds a glove in a secret drawer in Mr. Holmes' room. The glove is lying perfectly flat in the drawer. It had supposedly been there for years unknown to Mr. Holmes. Later, in a flashback scene, it shows Dr. Watson putting the glove in the drawer. When he puts the glove in the secret drawer, it is not laid flat in the drawer - it has an obvious upward bend in the glove. Since the glove had been in the drawer, untouched, for years, it should have still had that upward bend.
Suggested correction: Although we are only shown Watson putting the glove in the drawer once there is no reason to suggest he may not have looked at it again before he left for good. More compellingly, Watson placed the glove in the drawer whilst the bureau was in place in Holmes' quarters in London, and it was not discovered until a quarter of a century later having been moved at some point to Holmes' house in Sussex. This journey could also easily have displaced the gloves position to some degree. The weight of papers contained in the drawer above may have also aided in flattening the glove out over the years.
Continuity mistake: During the fight scene with the contract killer in the apartment building, the killer's coat catches fire. As the scene and fight continues, the coat is no longer on fire. (01:16:30)
Continuity mistake: In the first scene with Stephen Fry, Narayana mentions the construction of the bridge and sarcastly repeats the title of "Sir Francis." Fry has a pen in hand, no pen in the side view, again a pen back to the previous angle. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: Towards the end while Brian and Welch are talking at the hotel, the sun on the wall changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: The resident bully approaches Mara once her rather embarrassing mum left. (00:02:40)
Continuity mistake: The scene where Lilly meets the new art dealer. Lilly holds the brandy in 'his' left hand then right hand then left hand then right hand in different shots. (01:04:00)
Continuity mistake: When Dre is talking to his brother outside the house before he leaves, the house in the background is showing partial sun (around sunset). Then, it becomes fully in the sun in the last shot as he's now leaving. The frame instantly changes to a wider view of the street, and now the house is fully shady with the sun already down.
Continuity mistake: When Nicolas Cage is standing on a roof top patio with the oil industry financier, an orange disappears. The oil guy is peeling an orange as he talks to NC and then when Cage leaves the scene the orange is gone without it ever being eaten or discarded. (01:00:00 - 01:05:00)
Continuity mistake: The first time we see Roland on his own at the bar, he's talking with the bartender, Michel. When he asks Roland in French where his wife is, Niels Arestrup's arm changes position instantaneously in an edit mid-sentence, and does the same a couple more times after. (00:11:30)
Continuity mistake: When Joseph Gorden-Levitt is performing his street act in Paris, somebody drops a jaw-breaker candy into his hat instead of money. He removes the jaw-breaker, performs some sleight-of-hand with it for the entertainment of the crowd, then deftly drop-kicks the candy into his mouth and bites down on it hard on the right side. It breaks his tooth and he immediately goes to the dentist; but he is clutching the left side of his face, instead of the right side.
