Factual error: Like in the previous movie, the female lead introduces herself formally as Detective Maggie Price, from San Francisco Police Department. Where the correct rank is "Inspector."
Continuity mistake: During the climactic conclusion involving a frying pan, between the various fast cuts the bad guy is holding the gun with both hands or just one hand. (01:17:35)
Continuity mistake: When Maggie says "You know what that means?" at the end, her hair at the cut changes position on her shoulders. (01:18:55)
Continuity mistake: On his way up from the basement, Henry gets rid of a loose piece of tape that got stuck to his watch - but it wasn't there when he was still in the room and left the accomplice tied up. (01:16:30)
Revealing mistake: One of the three last names that Maggie searches for is "French" but f you look at the results page, you can notice that the results are for the word "France." (01:08:10)
Factual error: The search that cracks the case is nonsense from a simple logical standpoint. There are three people, whose deaths have never been related together, but that all died because of tetryzoline poisoning. Entering all three of those names in google would not produce relevant results or even narrow the spectrum, because it's three unrelated deaths. (01:08:40)
Revealing mistake: Lucas Miller's card (what they use to mark him as suspect on their board) contains just a bunch of filler text, like "ipsum dolor tenderloin" "tempor t-bone lorem" in a daring fusion of random Latin words and cuts of meat. (01:08:30)
Continuity mistake: Maggie shows the article about Evelynn's husband holding the phone in her left hand in close-up, which is not how she handles it in the previous and following shot. (01:04:20)
Continuity mistake: The detectives are at the concierge to check Michael's alibi. From behind, Brooke Burns is leaning against the desk with an outstretched arm, while in other angles she's leaning with her elbow. (00:53:50)
Continuity mistake: Maggie and Henry are having breakfast after she phoned to her coworkers; the plates in front of them turn around at the cut. (00:35:30)
Continuity mistake: In the second part of Maggie's conversation with Castellano (after she shoos Henry with menacing gestures), his hand is on the glass' stem, then it is not in the reverse shot, and so on, back and forth. Maggie's hand also changes position, moving to and fro the rim of the glass. (00:30:50)
Continuity mistake: Maggie is at the bar with Castellano, prompting the jealousy of Henry. At the beginning of the scene, when she says "I'm serious" her hand moves on top of the glass all of a sudden just for that one close-up and the next shots with that particular camera angle. (00:30:00)
Continuity mistake: After the encounter with the manager who was - (not) carrying a corpse, the dynamic duo gets back in front of the hotel room. The keycard goes from Maggie's right, to the left, to the right between shots. (00:28:55)
Continuity mistake: Maggie leads Henry away from the manager and the wasted actress on the bench. She puts her hand on his right arm, which turns into the left at the cut. (00:28:45)
Continuity mistake: After checking the viral video out, the gourmet detective walks towards the window. In close-up he puts his hand on a wooden part of the frame, under other angles he's touching the glass panel. (00:26:40)
Other mistake: Maggie and the chef sleuth are watching the viral video. The article mentions that a four minutes outburst has been caught on camera, but the video lasts only 30 seconds, contains the full transcript and ends, no cuts, with her that grabs the camera. There's no room for other 3 minute and a half of footage. (00:26:00)
Continuity mistake: Starting their investigation by the pool, Maggie remarks about the difficulties of finding a body in the woods at night. Brooke Burns' hair is clear off her shoulders all of a sudden, while it's in front of them in most of the rest of the scene. (00:24:25)
