Continuity mistake: At the beginning of the movie, the first thug is trying to convince Brennan to handle the gun. He repeatedly uses the trigger to show him that the gun is harmless; in the next shot the weapon mid-sentence is already turned around the other way, held out for Brennan. (00:01:15)
Factual error: Summer and Carmen are at the saloon and catch on the local news the report of the kidnapping. The scene is set in Tuscany, Italy, but the news anchor is Spanish actress Paz Vega, speaking with an obvious accent and mispronouncing words. To make the whole situation even more absurd, she is supposed to portray a native Italian speaker, "Giulia Carni": the last name is Italian sounding but nonexistent in reality, and the headline used for the news report, "Nonna-napper", "kidnapper of grandmother" has such an awkward and unnatural sound and feel in Italian and for an Italian audience, that nobody ever would use it. Revealing mistake: When Rachel has a red turban on and is supposed to be bald, you can see her hair under the turban.
Continuity mistake: The collision with the deer shattered the windshield in front of driver Ben, but when Ben skidded to a stop, there did not appear to be any damage to the driver's side windshield. When Ben and Carter were getting out of the car and when they were changing the front passenger side tire, the passenger-side windshield was shattered (and closer to the hood compared to midway between the hood and roof on the driver's side, which was no longer there). Continuity mistake: After Liz and Bev tell Bill that they can't cancel the show, they are helping him put his suit jacket on. Dimitri behind him is using a sticky roller thing to get hairs off the jacket and is down on his back. After Bev mentions the weather issues the camera angle changes and suddenly Dimitri has the roller up on his shoulder.
Revealing mistake: At the cocktail party in his honor, Rita Richards introduces herself. Joaquin Phoenix's scotch is in a transparent plastic cup, and you notice what happens in most movies, here with particular clarity; when he brings it to his mouth, he does not take even a sip, but just pretends. Other mistake: Whilst the main character is having a 'talk' with the general, the world clocks on the way show 3:50 on time 1, and 3:49 on time 2. (01:25:10)
Factual error: A 1955 Chevrolet is parked in front of Lily Tomlin's 1955 Dodge. Its license plate reads "528 GPR." California license plates did not begin to use combinations of three numbers followed by three letters until 1969. The "528 GPR" plate would have been issued circa 1975 and originally had yellow letters on a blue background. For the movie, the blue background was repainted black so the colors were appropriate for 1955. However, an actual 1955 plate would have three letters followed by three numbers.
Factual error: At the beginning of the movie, Jason Sudeikis pops out of a door wearing a Jurassic 5 T-shirt. Problem is, the artwork on it is from the cover of Feedback, their 2006 album. The scene, as the introductory caption says, is supposed to happen in 2002. (00:00:55)
Continuity mistake: After the shooting at the concert, Lysistrata is in the bathroom downing the pill with some Don Julio tequila. The bottle lid is to the left of the bottle in the wide angles, to the right in close-up. (00:10:00)
Continuity mistake: During the saloon heist, Luke Wilson comes in to distracts Harvey Keitel. Danny pulls out a roll of banknotes to buy "some real scotch from Scotchland"; one of the girls poured a drink to Smiley and put the bottle down, but the bottle in a following shot is in a different position. Continuity mistake: When Zipper drops her off at her car at the beach, Marnie is wearing boots when she gets off his motorcycle. When she walks to the car she's wearing shoes.
Continuity mistake: After Thomas biffs the trucks, the position of the way they are derailed changes between shots.
Continuity mistake: In the opening scene, the two friends discuss about the pool and various fluids including the pleasant effects of the waterjets on their ladyparts. During these amenities, the sleeve of the bathing robe on the bench switches position back and forth between two positions (showing the stripe or not). (00:03:00)
Other mistake: The day before the business trip, Vince Vaughn enters his son's room. They have an awkward chat about masturbation and when he leaves, his son checks out of the bad things that bullies with even worse photoshop skills post on Facebook. He is looking at two different posts, but two comments are exactly the same in both, complete with the same peculiar spelling mistake. (00:08:30)
Continuity mistake: During the fight in the garage, the protagonist neutralizes (and maybe neuters) one of the baddies crotching him with the car door. In that sequence, his hands keep changing position on the door. (00:07:30)
Other mistake: During the opening, when Danny rides his bike past the boatyard, the image has been reversed. The registration numbers on the boats appear as mirror images.
Factual error: Tina's striptease dance is mentioned several times as a notable scene in the fictional 1986 movie 'Camp Bloodbath'. When that scene plays out, the song Tina dances to is Warrant's 'Cherry Pie', which wasn't released until 1990.
Continuity mistake: First meeting with Lazarus; the pastor sits down, his wife is just about to, and Verdean's assistant has placed her bag on the table. Next shot, pastor and wife seated, but Miss Jensen is still just only then approaching the chair and putting the bag down. (00:08:25)
Continuity mistake: Near the beginning of the movie when Joy is in her airline's company uniform and getting ready to go to work, the knot on her scarf changes from loose to tight several times in the different shots.
