Factual error: Close to the end of the film Michael Reed is traveling from Philadelphia to New York City by train early in the morning. The sun shines on his face from left side which is impossible in the morning, as the left side of his face faces west during that direction of travel (from south to north).

Factual error: The movie is set in 1979-1980. You can see vehicles all throughout the movie that were manufactured after 1980.

Factual error: As Freddie is walking toward the house, the streetlight to the right of the shot is a modern post-top unit with a one part photocell visible on top. In the 70s in the UK it would have been a much older lantern with no photocell, as it would have been time switch controlled. (01:03:00)

Factual error: A delightful movie that theoretically takes place in the vicinity of Portland Oregon, over a period of many months. The problem is, that at no time does it ever rain, and anyone who has lived near Portland knows it rains half of the year.

Factual error: Sergeant-Major Saunders is wearing sergeant's stripes. Corporals Drake and Levin are wearing no rank insignia at all.

Factual error: Wolves don't bark. Especially adult wolves.

Factual error: After warping back from Iscandar, Kodai looks out of the window. Yuki Mori points him where Earth is. A moment later, he responds to the hailing signal saying that they are now 420,000 kilometres from Earth. Considering that the distance between Earth and the Moon is about 385,000km, Earth is looking unreasonably minuscule from their window. (01:52:50)

Factual error: When Craven is pulling over the car in the tunnel exiting the city, the vehicle pulls over in a completely different part of the city. (00:58:40)

Factual error: In the beginning, a Dunkin' Donuts cup is shown with the pictorial logos representing "America Runs On Dunkin'. This ad campaign was not begun until 2006.

Factual error: When Secretariat crosses the finish line, that finish line pole is not from Belmont, that finish line pole is from Keeneland.
