Factual error: In one scene they are playing on an Xbox 360, but the Xbox 360 did not come out until 2005, and the game being played, Gears of War, wasn't released until 2006. The movie takes place in 2004.
Factual error: At the end we see a soldier replacing the canister that the Zyklon B is kept in. However, he is not wearing an SS badge as all SS soldiers did. Zyklon B was only handled by members of the SS, as no other unit had authorisation to carry the sensitive stuff. (01:28:00)
Factual error: Outside the Territory Hotel, during the storm, and once earlier in the movie, the taxi cabs are shown with the modern "flip over" vacancy/hired signs that were not used then.
Factual error: The dying colonel opens the bomb bay doors, and drops the "little man" atomic weapon on the island, destroying the flying reptiles. In fact, the bomb and the fusing assemblies were transported to Tinian by separate methods. No one in his right mind would have loaded a FUSED atomic bomb into a B-29 to transport it to Tinian.
Factual error: When the soldiers return to HQs, the American flag, hung vertically over the entrance, has the blue field with stars on the right. The flag, when hung vertically, is supposed to have the blue field on the left..
Factual error: The Bielski brothers go on a raid of a German post to acquire some "Ampicillin" to treat members of their refugee band who have typhus. Ampicillin is a penicillin derivative that wasn't available until the early 1960's, and in any case, typhus is properly treated with chloramphenicol or tetracycline, antibiotics of different classes from penicillin. Besides, the German didn't have penicillin of any type during World War II.
Factual error: Although correctly addressed as "captain" towards the end of the film, Richthofen continues to wear the rank insignia of an oberleutnant (lieutenant).
Factual error: There is a running camera shot at the UN of national flags, the current Canadian flag is displayed but it was first introduced in 1965, the movie scene is suppose to take place in 1964.
Factual error: The SS Officer is repeatedly addressed as "Herr Oberst". This is a Wehrmacht rank designation, and could possibly have been correct for them addressing an SS officer, but fellow SS officers would have used the correct term "Standartenführer" (without the "Herr"). On one occasion the lower rank SS officer is address as "Herr Leutnant" which is equally wrong, should be "(Ober)sturmführer"
Factual error: In the streetcar scene a passenger is a soldier wearing a US Army green uniform with a CIB, Comat Infantry Badge. At the time US uniforms were brown and there is no plausible reason for this US soldier to be in that country.
