Factual error: Basic physics - Hancock throws Michel from a dead stop to above cloud level in about eleven seconds. The clouds are bog standard cumulus which form at around 7,000 metres in temperate zones. This means that Michel accelerates to about 700 metres per second instantly, from a dead stop. Obviously he cannot accelerate during his ascent, so his starting speed has to be at least that. (In fact he would have to start his ascent much, much faster than 700 metres per second as he would be constantly decelerating due to gravity and air resistance, but it will do as a start point.) Michel accelerates from 0 to 2,520 kilometres per hour - twice the speed of sound - in zero seconds. He would be accelerating at around 5000 Gs, turning him into a very long streak of fine, pink mist.
Factual error: After escaping the hospital, Harvey Dent wears the same charred suit he was wearing when he was brought to the hospital. That suit would not have been neatly taken off and left intact. It would have been cut off with shears so as not to accidentally remove any damaged skin and flesh when pulling the pants and shirt off. The blazer might still be intact but certainly not the pants and shirt.
Continuity mistake: When Seth has been sliced by the blade, he spits blood that goes all over his face. It then cuts to Hoffman looking at him, then back to Seth, and now the blood on his face has gone. This happens three or four times. (00:05:10)
Continuity mistake: In an early part of the movie, Francis Tierney, Sr. is standing in front of a paper towel dispenser in a restroom with his son, Ray Tierney. The dispenser, which is visible over Francis Tierney's right shoulder, is at first full of paper towels, then empty, then full again. The paper towels are at first sticking out of the bottom of the dispenser, then they vanish.
Continuity mistake: During the police chase, the hub caps on Saul's police car keep appearing and disappearing throughout the whole chase.
Continuity mistake: At the end of the scene where Frank chases the car on a bike, he jumps into the car through the driver's window. You can see broken glass flying, but in the very next shot the driver's window is intact again.
Continuity mistake: When Latika is a dancer, in one shot she does not have a nose ring, but in another shot she does.
Continuity mistake: When Prof. Rosa calls Cole, Terry answers the phone and places Rosa on hold. However, when Cole takes the phone from Terry, he does not take Rosa off of hold and proceeds to talk to him.
Continuity mistake: When Kim is kidnapped, she describes the man "Beard. Six feet. Tattoo right hand, moon and star." When Bryan listens to the tape in the jet, she says, "Mustache. Six feet. Tattoo on right hand, moon and star. Dad!" (00:27:50)
Other mistake: When Dennis Quaid fires his SIG-Sauer P229 pistol on the bad guys under the over-pass, he fires 28 shots from a 10-12 round pistol without reloading.
Factual error: We see Jason Statham walking into a shop in 1971 which has a Visa/Barclaycard logo on the door. Only problem with that is that the name Visa wasn't brought in until 1977.
Plot hole: The FBI in the movie has the ability to "blackhole" an IP address, which makes that computer unavailable to the internet. If they can blackhole the computer acting as the web server, they could also blackhole the computer acting as the name server (DNS), thereby taking down the web site and preventing additional users from connecting.
Continuity mistake: When the bus crashes, the aerial shot shows no garbage by the rear door. In the next angle it's full of trash.
Factual error: In Federal Reserve cash processing facilities, multiple denominations of money are never allowed to mingle.
Audio problem: During a scene where Donna is exiting her hotel room, she runs into Clair and both scream. However, Clair's scream cannot be heard, but an odd screeching sound is played in place of her scream, which continues even after her mouth has been closed.
Continuity mistake: When the barman pulls Ken a fresh pint, the pint is placed on the bar and the glass is not entirely full. The camera changes angle and the glass is now full.
Other mistake: The date on the surveillance footage from the camera in the Russian Embassy says 01.05.08, implying that it is either January or May (depending on which date notation is being used, American mm.dd.yy or Russian dd.mm.yy). However, it is fall/autumn outside, as there are dead leaves everywhere. And when Katie calls Harry we can see that his cell phone shows 17/9/08. (00:48:00)
Factual error: In the film, Sgt. Jack Lupino is depicted as a United States Marine Corp Sargent. However, when Max is watching an interview with Lupino it shows him wearing either a Gunnery Sargent or Master Sargent chevrons. Not only that, but the chevrons happen to be upside down. No US Marine would ever make a mistake like that.
Factual error: A woman is shown receiving electroshock treatment ("ECT") in a hospital scene which took place in 1928. Although chemicals were used to induce seizures in psychiatric treatments at the time, the use of electricity for the purpose was not discovered until 1937 and not used in the United States until 1940.
Factual error: When the soldiers return to HQs, the American flag, hung vertically over the entrance, has the blue field with stars on the right. The flag, when hung vertically, is supposed to have the blue field on the left..
