Factual error: When Moto Moto and Gloria were digging for water, they threw all the jewels and gold into a pile. The gold in the basket would weigh more than 1200 pounds. Also, real gold comes fused to other rock and rarely in pure form.
Factual error: After Tigress tells the backstory of Tai Lung the scene transitions from her being a cub to an adult. Young Tigress' stripes don't match the pattern of Adult Tigress. Tiger stripes don't change with age.
Factual error: In multiple scenes in the forest you can see Edward's "breath" - but being a vampire, he should be cold, hence his body should not be expelling water in his breath warm enough to condense into fog in the cold weather.
Factual error: Bryan's hot wiring of the Volkswagen Golf is feasible, all except that he doesn't break the physical steering lock that would prevent him from turning the wheel. Old Volkswagens are quite difficult to break the steering lock, a sharp snap of the wheel does not break it as it's quite a bit more sturdy than a mere pin. Pulling at the wires does nothing to affect the steering lock, and the lock is shielded precisely to stop outside tampering. Not enough time had passed for him to achieve the task of removing the security. The scene shown is not a condensed montage scene, it's a complete scene from start to finish of what Bryan did to steal the car, and the steering lock was never broken.
Factual error: When Leonardo DiCaprio is arriving on the tarmac at what is supposed to be Abu Dhabi, the main (and very distinctive) Dulles airport terminal is visible in the background.
Factual error: If Billy/Jigsaw's facial muscles and tendons were "completely destroyed" as his doctor indicates, there is no way he would be able to speak normally, and especially not in his original voice.
Factual error: Although correctly addressed as "captain" towards the end of the film, Richthofen continues to wear the rank insignia of an oberleutnant (lieutenant).
Factual error: The rocket that little Tran fired at the helicopter towards the climax travels much too slowly. Peck would not have had time to react to it if it moved at a proper speed, much less throw a heavy mechanical device through the air to intercept.
Factual error: After Toorop and the women arrive in Canada, they stay at a motel in Kitimat. The caption on the screen says it's 10 miles from the American border. In fact, Kitimat is more than 370 kms from the American border. There are a number of towns closer than that. The caption also has the latitude for Kitimat three degrees further south than what it really is, which would make it even further from the American border.
Factual error: In the first scene, the math problem is wrong. It says "Grave buys a bag of 240 jellybeans. There are 35 yellow ones, 52 red ones, 63 green ones, 26 white ones, 41 blue ones, and 40 black ones." That is 257 jellybeans not 240. Don't ask why I stopped and did that math.
Factual error: When Cam ambushes Ba'al in 1939, he has two Thompson M1 submachine guns. The M1 version of the Thompson wasn't developed until 1942.
Factual error: Although the movie was set in the 1940s, the railroad track had modern concrete ties.
Factual error: When the captain is arguing with the Armed Services Committee chairman, Homeland Security is mentioned. However this movie takes place prior to Desert Shield, and the Department of Homeland Security wasn't created until over a decade later.
Factual error: One of the women in the group picks up a piece of calcite (Iceland Spar variety). It is obviously calcite because of the very obvious rhombohedral cleavage and other visual indicators. The sample is later identified as ringwoodite. Ringwoodite is cubic with no reported cleavage. Even if it did exhibit cleavage, it would not be rhombodedral.
Factual error: The bar shown in Iqualuit is not real. Iqualuit only has 6100 or so people, and there is no bar like the one shown in the movie. The building is wrong - it doesn't even look like any buildings in Iqualuit. There is one bar that looks nothing like the movie, one Legion, and a bar in the hotel in Iqualuit.
Factual error: When Ami and Miki are driving nails into the henchman's face to make him talk, it is very clear that the depth of the nails would have killed him, as they would have penetrated deep into his brain. Obviously done for stylistic effect, but a mistake nonetheless.
Factual error: During the opening credits. An LCD screen is shown with lat/long coordinates. The movie takes place in the Persian Gulf. The coordinates are in the vicinity of Oceanside, CA.
Factual error: Late in the big chase scene, Sol climbs on top of the Bentley just as Sinclair decides to drive it straight through a bus that is blocking the highway. Somehow, the Bentley levitates from the highway to about 4 or 5 feet in the air, penetrating the bus passenger cabin rather than impacting the chassis of the bus. Also, as the bus inexplicably explodes in a fireball, Sol (who was atop the car) is torn to pieces, with his decapitated head hurtling straight into the camera. Without lungs or diaphragm, Sol's head is still audibly screaming.
