Factual error: At some point during the marriage of Juvenal Urbino and Fermina Daza, Dr. Urbino visits Florentino Ariza's office to ask for a donation from Florentino's uncle for a musical charity event. He asks Florentino whether he likes music, and Florentino answers that he likes the music of Carlos Gardel. A few scenes later, the town welcomes the arrival of the year 1900. Tango singer Carlos Gardel was born in either 1887 or 1890, and did not reach fame until the 1920s, so it is impossible for Florentino Ariza to have heard his music before the year 1900, when Gardel was, at the most, only 12 and not yet into singing.
Revealing mistake: In most of the scenes of the film, the famous filly is impersonated by a colt.
Continuity mistake: When Lars approaches Margo in her booth in their office, you can already see some letters in the third line of the last paragraph on her screen. When he is leaving, she continues typing, but there, you see her just beginning the third line. (01:08:00 - 01:09:00)

Continuity mistake: While McGahan is leaving the trailer with the widow (after giving his speech on heaven and hell) he closes the door. The next shot of him outside, the door is now wide open.
Continuity mistake: Jasira is crying in her mothers' arms at the airport. When the mom tells her that it's all her fault, a lady with a patterned open overshirt walks behind their row of seats. Continuity mistake: During the September 4, 1977 show at the Masque, Darby cuts a line on his chest with broken glass. The shape and position of the cut changes between shots during and after the show.

Continuity mistake: The two protagonists are having a conversation at a long table. Michael Caine sends a bottle of wine rolling across the table. Jude Law opens it and pours. The bottle label now faces him. After Caine says the line "I've never heard of an Italian called Tindale", Milo hasn't moved but the bottle faces the camera now.
