Trivia: Near the beginning, when Remy is in the sewers and begins to make his way up to the skyline of Paris, he is startled by a barking dog in one of the apartments. If you pause and look at the silhouette of the dog, it greatly resembles Dug the dog, from the 2009 Disney/Pixar release Up - another precursory nod to an upcoming movie by Pixar. (00:16:35)

Trivia: The Erzebet character is based very loosely on a real figure from history, Countess Elizabeth Bathory. Bathory was tried in the 1600's for killing numerous women (some claim as many as 600). Eventually, her horrifying crimes led to the creation of the false legend that she would bathe in the blood of those she killed to retain her youth.
Trivia: After Queen Lilly is dazed after banging the rocks with head to get them out of prison, she hums the first few bars of "A spoon full of Sugar." After Fiona asks if she's alright, she hums a few lines from "My favorite things," both songs made famous by Lilly's voice, Julie Andrews.
