Revealing mistake: Towards the beginning of the movie, young Alexander tames a horse and then jumps on the horse and rides off. He is supposed to be riding bareback, but in one of the shots from a distance, you can tell that the actor's feet are in stirrups.
Revealing mistake: When Vic Frohmeyer excitedly tells the kids that Mr. Krank is putting up his frosty, the kids turn their attention away from their video game and get up to leave, but the video game continues to be played, indicating the video on the screen is a recording. (00:59:20)
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the movie, where it shows the group of nodding zombies and the Shaun of The Dead logo is on the ground, look to your left, the zombie actor stops nodding and looks around him to see if the shot is still being filmed, and he immediately goes back to nodding. Look out for it, it's obvious. (00:03:45)
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the movie, there is a shot of Largeman opening a medicine cabinet. If you look on the mirror as he opens it, you can see the cut out of where the camera is hidden in the wall. This is pointed out by Braff in the commentary.
Revealing mistake: When the musicians stop playing and the world leaders start getting up from the table, it goes to a shot spanning the entire table, but also showing the musician's stage. This is where you see the mistake, as you see Berkhamp suddenly at the front of the stage wearing his headband and dancing, when it cuts away from that shot, it shows Berkhamp is still sitting behind his instrument with his headband still off. Then we find that out of place shot was recycled from when Berkhamp actually was onstage and dancing as we see the exact same shot again less than a minute later, this time the shot is where it's supposed to be however this is still a mistake and quite an odd one. (01:26:25)
Revealing mistake: When the detectives were listening to the message on the answering machine, we heard it say the date was Thursday and states a time the message was left. When the camera shows the answering machine, you can see the display blinking between 1 (the current message) and CL (which indicates the time and date have not yet been set).
Revealing mistake: If you watch Herb's wife Patty drink her hot chocolate, it is very easy to see that the cup is empty.
Revealing mistake: At the beginning of the movie a hamburger is thrown in hopes that a dog will "fetch" it. When the dog does not do so the hamburger is retrieved twice, in perfect shape, to be thrown two more times. On each throw its various parts would have landed individually all over the place and not been throwable again.
Revealing mistake: During the wedding scene, while the narrator is talking, you can see the string that will pull the left table apart. As said in the commentary, the filmmakers weren't going for the idea of people pulling the tables apart, but rather some other force parting them. (01:27:40)
Revealing mistake: There is a wide shot of the ship were there is some equipment on the ice and some people moving around. The ship itself and the equipment cast shadows. But none of the moving people cast any shadows at all. (00:14:25)
Revealing mistake: As Ana is driving away from her home, when we see her car driving from a shot high above, we see a car crashing in to a gas station making a huge explosion. However the trees a few feet away from the explosion don't move. The shockwave would have made them react at least a bit. (00:09:20)
Revealing mistake: In shots of the drive-through guy at the the Burger Shack, it can be seen that the restaurant has no back wall.
Revealing mistake: When Marcus (dressed up as Tiffany) is braiding Karen's hair, you can easily tell that the corn-rows were already done, and that the hair that is not done is a wig. You can see the line where the wig starts. Also, it's probably a wig because when Marcus (as Tiffany) is braiding the hair, he just looks like he is moving it, and that the braids are already done. (00:49:25)
Revealing mistake: In the beginning of the dance scene, when Sam gives Carter her phone so he can set the alarm, the phone isn't even on when he is programming it.
Revealing mistake: When Gene's bodyguard (the one with the moustache) shoots Slasher and Duke, just before Slasher is shot the bullet hole effect is visible on her forehead (sightly concealed by make-up) just before the actual 'shot'.
Revealing mistake: At the end of the movie, when the last "Graboid" appears, in one or two shots of him retracting back into the ground, you can tell the shots are reversed, as dirt is being sucked down in an unnatural way. It flies up and sort of "implodes" towards the creature. (01:23:50)
Revealing mistake: In an early scene Cole and his future wife watch fireworks over Paris through a doorway overlooking a balcony. The explosions are reflected on the glass of the open door, which is at an angle to the POV. But the CGI fireworks and their reflection in the glass are squashed to fit into the foreshortened pane of glass. In reality the reflected image would be like any mirror, with the image inverted left-for-right.
Revealing mistake: On each of Sky Captain's hangar doors, the windows are broken in the exact same places, indicating the same window rendering was simply duplicated to make the others. (00:16:45)
Revealing mistake: When Ivy is running along the path in the woods, right before she bumps into the wall there are two large tree branches lying in her way. She shortens her steps and hops over both of them, even though her walking stick never touches them and she should have no indication that they're there.
Revealing mistake: As the truck that Castle's wife is driving flips, you can see a burst of smoke or compressed air under the passenger side. Once the truck has stopped rolling, you can see a piece of U-channel bolted across the underside with a cylinder on the passenger side, which was used to help the truck roll over.
