Factual error: Before 1949, when the part of the film set in Hollywood takes place, the famous sign on the mountain read "Hollywoodland", not "Hollywood". The sign had been allowed to deteriorate and during that year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce offered to remove the last four letters and repair the rest.
Factual error: In the scene towards the end, where Johnny Depp is making his speech in the House of Lords, he refers to 'due process of law', but uses the American pronunciation of the word 'process' (prah-sess) whereas the English would say 'proe-sess'.
Factual error: A murder investigation would not be handled by a Detective Constable (he says he's in charge). Detective Chief Inspector is the usual minimum rank for a senior investigating officer, and such a high profile murder investigation is likely to be under a higher ranking senior officer.
Factual error: In the final credits, the song "Brazil" is credited to "Aro Barrosa". The composer's real name is Ary Barroso.
Continuity mistake: When Luther is having dinner with Jackie, he picks up his napkin twice.
Continuity mistake: Before the final play begins on opening night, Annette Benning receives her husband Michael in her dressing room, and her nails are polished dark red. Then, during the scenes showing her performance on stage, her nails have no polish at all. However, when the play is over and she is back at her dressing room, receiving the congratulations of her husband, friends, etcetera, her nails are again polished dark red. She did not remove the polish and reapply it.
Other mistake: When Tubal meets Shylock outside the brothel after Shylock's "Hath not a Jew eyes?"-speech, a man in a passing gondola spits on Tubal. The spittle hits Tubal's clothes (And as the man is sitting while Tubal stands, he could not have reached any higher in any case). Tubal stills reaches up to his face and wipes it with his fingers, as if the spittle was there.
Continuity mistake: In the second episode, Thar tells Tenar that "one of [her] successors" conspired with the Kargide king to destroy their order's magical amulet. But Thar is speaking of the past, so the woman in question must have been her predecessor, not her successor.
Factual error: In the scene of reaching Machu Pichu, the asthmatic Che Guevara is practically running up (6.000 meters high), and his friend, who doesn't suffer from any respiratory illness, is gasping for air. In other scenes, the asthma plays an important role in the film.
Other mistake: At the beginning, Pierre's doorbell rings. He goes to answer it, only to see Pépinot walking up the driveway. How could he ring the doorbell while walking up the driveway?
Factual error: In this scene several sailors attack Alice Paul and tear down the demonstrator's banners. The older sailor's petty officer rank specialty insignia featuring three lightning bolts, Radioman, was not created until 1921, four years after this incident. (01:30:35)
Continuity mistake: Roland had given Nikita a necklace to wear with a tracking device in it. Nikita is shown talking to her dad with necklace on then she goes to pool house to talk with Roland and necklace is absent.
Continuity mistake: Simon gets groceries, carries them home in two bags, and is then in the hallway without any groceries. It is never clear that he sets them down. (01:20:35 - 01:21:40)
Continuity mistake: When the teacher is explaining Symbolism, she writes it on the chalk board. She then turns her back to it and talks to the class. The camera pans to the class but when we turn back to the teacher there are now 2 lines under the word 'Symbolism' that were not there before. We would have heard the chalk noise if she'd written them while out of shot.
Other mistake: One joint, already partially smoked by Bobby and Jonathan when Mrs. Glover enters the room, gets passed around a few times and lasts for an unusually long period of time. When it is already too small (barely big enough to be held), more hits are taken but the joint doesn't really get smaller. (00:12:42 - 00:17:03)
Factual error: A scene in the second half of the film pans up over the top of the Flamingo hotel/casino facing north up the Vegas strip. The Caesars Palace sign is to the left (west) and north of the Flamingo are the Sands, the Dunes, and the Frontier casinos in that order. The Dunes hotel/casino was never located between the Sands and the Frontier. It was in fact one of the southernmost located casinos on the strip at that time and would have technically been behind, southwest of, the Flamingo in this scene.
Continuity mistake: During the showdown's sword fight between Lansing and Faisal in the palace hall, there is a far-off shot in which the blade of Lansing's sword can just barely be seen bending off at an unnatural angle, revealing it as a prop. For the rest of the duel, the sword is shown intact. (01:16:44)
Continuity mistake: The left side of the open file folder is underneath the pillow and propped against the arm of the couch. After Beth has all of her papers/file folders on her lap, the open file folder is magically back in place under the pillow. (00:04:22 - 00:05:50)
Continuity mistake: Mariska Hargitay's necklace disappears and re-appears during court. (01:10:25 - 01:11:30)
Factual error: The opening scene shows Lieutenant Commander Sullivan being interviewed by a Rear Admiral at CINCPAC, according to the signage. He would never be assigned to a submarine scheduled to be deployed to the Atlantic.
