Deliberate mistake: When Beck and Travis dive off the road and roll down hill, their stunt doubles are quite noticeable in many of the shots down the hill. (00:26:35)
Deliberate mistake: When you see one of Pascal's henchmen turn off the power, he is wearing a black suit. In the reflection of the glass on the power box, you can see 'Police' written on the jacket. The filmmaker chose this suit because it was black, thinking no one would see the police logo on it.
Deliberate mistake: After Mina leaves the car in Venice, Sawyer just manages to avoid several obstacles on the way, including a bend in the canal. But in the first scene, where Sawyer swerves the car around, its front should have slipped into the water anyway, considering the speed of the car and the tightness of the street, which makes a sharp L-turn at such close quarters next to impossible. But then the scene jump-cuts, and the car is well past the hazard.
Deliberate mistake: Mays Gilliam and the girl is standing and are about to kiss someone suddenly shouts, "Freeze." They are now totally surrounded by cars and armed policemen. Wouldn't Gilliam and the girl notice them arriving before they were about to kiss and before the man shouted? (00:49:00)
Deliberate mistake: After Emily talks to inspector Girotti she starts a record player. Then she walks over to the window, sees Werner in the garden, and decides to go down. Between shots she appears behind him, which is wrong, as the song from the record goes on, but it's most probably intended. (00:30:45)
Deliberate mistake: Whenever O.J. the owl is flying, there is the sound of wings flapping that sounds almost like a chicken flapping its wings. The flight of an owl is almost silent.
Deliberate mistake: When Hulk meets his father at the lab, each one's eyes have a special light on them. This adds for dramatic effect, but it's absurd because there is no direct source of light since each one is in front of the other and their faces are in shade in the rest of the shots.
Deliberate mistake: When the teacher walks over the floor towards the blackboard, he walks through a lot of blood. However when it cuts, he leaves no traces of blood where he steps.
Deliberate mistake: When the Crazy 88 crew is coming in to attack the bride they use one of the shots twice. It is the one that shows 1 guy jump over a banister and go to the left of the screen then another guy comes directly after him and heads directly towards the camera. It happens at 1:21:49 and 1:21:53. (01:21:45)
Deliberate mistake: DVD version : When Seagal flees from the dig, the car he drives changes from left side control to right side and back. (in close up - you can see the seat to his left).
Deliberate mistake: In the final race of the film, Seabiscuit performs a flying lead change at the gallop while crossing the finish line, in the famous shot taken underneath his neck. Horses normally only switch their leads around turns while racing; it's something done to relieve pressure on the leading foot. From taking the shot over and over again, the horse playing Seabiscuit was probably tired out and a little tender and began to perform lead changes in other places in an attempt to be more comfortable.
Deliberate mistake: When Sean James is reading 'The A-Z of Hip Hop' he reads 'whack' and 'dis' and their meanings out loud without turning the pages. The letters 'W' and 'D' are nowhere near each other in the English alphabet.
Deliberate mistake: When Lara and Terry escape the Shay-Ling, they are shown leaving the area and pass a sign that says 'Shanghai - 74 KM.' On a remote mountain passage, coming from a presumably well-secluded encampment. In English. Fat chance. (00:47:45)
Deliberate mistake: When Harry is seen stepping outside of his hotel the evening after he arrives in Paris, behind him is the familiar Eiffel Tower gloriously illuminated against the night sky. Frequent Paris visitors or residents might recognise the hotel as the Plaza Athenee - to see the Eiffel Tower from there you'd need to be looking in the opposite direction from what we're shown.
Deliberate mistake: When Cindy is leaving the elementary school and doesn't realize she leaves Cody, she drives for awhile (about 300 feet or so), she's talking and she keeps driving when she realizes Cody isn't in the car, it zooms to the exterior of the car and it shows it stop, then she backs up and the school is only like 40 feet away. (00:12:15)
Deliberate mistake: When Kimberly is being revived, it's obvious that they are using a defibulator. But when Kimberly finally comes to and is covered by a sheet, you can see she has a bra on. This is impossible to have because you need direct contact with the skin in order for it to work. And the machine would start the heart working if it was lower on her chest.
Deliberate mistake: On the DVD, in the scene where Jim Carrey finds a picture of his girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston), and holds it out of her reach, you can see that parts of the photo are blacked out, presumably to protect the identity of the person in the photo? (00:05:10)
Deliberate mistake: The tattoo on Mr. Funktastic's chest actually says Mista Fuktastic, not Mister Funktastic. (00:19:30)
Deliberate mistake: When Brian and Bilkins are at the demolition derby, Roman wins and gets out of his car. As he scans the crowd, he sees Brian. When we see Brian the logo on his shirt has a 3D effect to it that goes back and to the left. In all other shots of that logo, the effect goes back and to the right. This shot is reversed.
Deliberate mistake: During the car chase in the Cadillac, the van being chased crashes through a concrete block wall. Even if you can look past the unlikelihood that the van would even be drivable after going through, it is impossible that it would come through without any damage. Surely the windshield would be cracked, the headlights broken, etc. This was obviously not done with a real brick wall and they didn't think to damage the van before running it through the wall. They do show a dent and a messed up grill in a closeup later, but the damage doesn't match the wall scene. (01:02:10)
